Is Ross the new Dele Alli?Paid a fortune for never actually playing
Still a player. Went from playing well and scoring for England to being a Chelsea outcast in a very short time. Although nobody at Chelsea has enhanced their reputation lately.
Mason Mount is another that has gone backwards there although I never understood Sarfgates love of him.
I’d be surprised if we paid £8m for Maatsen, there are better LBs available.

Think Barclay has played about 30 times for Nice this season.

Really don’t think we should be chucking 20mil at the lad from Metz, one good season in French 2nd tier shouldn’t warrant such a big fee

Firstly it’s £17m, secondly he’s now had 3 impressive seasons in a row (Belgium 2nd and 1st tiers and French 2nd tier). Aside from that it does still seem steep albeit who really knows what’s accurate, last week it was £12m mentioned, all just speculation at this point isn’t it.

I guess there's no smoke without fire - I think we're going to have an extremely interesting squad come week one of the PL
Ruiz would make my head fall off - in a good way

I don't know where you go to pull in Burnley nowadays. But just imagine him in the Cat's Whiskers or The Hop in the '70s.

Agree……..doesn’t score, doesn’t assist, and he’s a number 10?!?!
He’s played everywhere mostly wide left. Doesn’t score or assist? Stop with this fickle recency bias nonsense please 11 goals 10 assists in 32 PL appearances in 21/22, last season was a complete write off from the entire club

Not questioning his stats, didn’t realise he had been good in 1st tier of Belgium to but still think £17mil would be steep, but we have made a rod for our own back with clubs by the fee we ended up going to for foster who’s record wasn’t near the same

I'd be surprised if we didn't get close to at least matching it for a second time (Beyer wasn't far off)

When you knock off what we'll get for Wout, he might seem quite affordable.

Picture the scene...a 26 year old very chic classy lady wearing a lace hat, pefect makeup, skimpy blouse and a tight fitting skirt, sipping champagne elegantly outside a ridiculously expensive cafe on the Champs Elysees and compare to 26 year old woman sat on bench outside Burnley Asda wearing a shell suit and slippers munching on a meat and potato pie out of a polystyrene tray with 4 screaming kids in tow ...get my drift!!!
...and now back to transfer talk...Ruiz ain't coming!!!

Yep because every Burnley lass eats meat pies outside Asda and every Parisian lady is sexy and elegant.

Nothing wrong with Burnley girls at all. A bit of a generalisation if you think they all wear trackies and slippers and are sat outside Asda. Far better than some shallow stuck up tart.

Jees, the daily catch up on transfers / rumours isn’t half becoming a chore! If it’s not arguments about who follows who / which is worthy of merit, it’s comparisons between apparently well to do French women and apparently less well to do Burnley women.
Can we have a summer ‘23 chat **** and argue about it thread?

Ruiz is from Seville which is a much nicer city than Paris anyway so he's already shown he's willing to downgrade

Connor Coady (30) available for around £4m
Reasonably cheap for someone with plenty of PL experience and would make our CB's up to four without having to loan THB again

Very unlike Dyche to let a decent central defender go. Mina is OOC and off, leaving him with just Tarks and Keane who is nothing of the player he was 3-4 years ago.Plus Everton need to be careful in spending being under the spotlight of FFP. Coady looks to be a good guy to have around and in your defence and only a year or so ago a regular for his country. I thought him and Tarks were a formidable pairing at the start of the season

Everton carnt afford Cody's wages as the reality of flagrant over spending kicks in
He is a decent defender and at £4.5m I could see him racking up at one of the recently promoted clubs like Luton or Sheffield United

No thanks re Coady. One of the most overrated players in recent years. Shouldn't be anywhere near England squads but has been. Surprised Dyche hasn't kept him around though, he could've been Everton's Steven Reid or Peter Crouch.

Everton will have to buy him if Dyche wants him and if Wolves want to sell him.

No Parisians are sipping champagne on the Champ Élysées - that’s a fact.
Muppet tourists that love paying 5x the price anywhere else might be though…
