The women's Football World Cup & Euro's has been added to the list of protected events by the Government, which means they have to be available to watch on a " free to air " basis. This gives no incentive for Sky, BT Sport or Amazon Prime to bid ....

This is the first time the Auction rights have been sold on a freestanding basis, rather than being " bundled in " with the Men's World Cup, and that, together with kick-off times that are not conducive to attracting large European audiences has led to FIFA receiving " low-ball " offers. Infantino has screwed up, he knows it and is trying to blackmail the European Broadcasters into making higher offers.
