My only concern with this is that the young kids in the CF will go "David Bowie song? Whose David Bowie?"

They seem ok with Buddy Holly and even Status Quo.

A tad derogatory. I suspect a majority would ask “who is David Bowie”.

🤔 If they don't know of "David Bowie" why would they ask who is David Bowie? 😉

"Heroes" is a Bowie song and thats played before every home game so perhaps parents have told their kids about him because of that

I’d probably be more concerned with young kids singing “fuc£ing” to be honest 😂

Why not

There’s a star man
Running down the wing
His name is Manuel Benson
And he makes the turf moor sing

A rare song without swearing

I seem to remember we went through a phase of playing that before games. It didn't really work from what I recall.

I was in the JWS at Ewood, so I heard the Wild Rover at full pelt before kick-off. Not a fan.

Actually it’s very good . The CFS lot don’t really know any of the “ core musical rhythm” of half the songs , like the VK song/that awful JR do wah diddy etc , though doesn’t mean it can’t be picked up easily enough .

Can't believe it is being suggested we use Aaron Lennon's song for another player... show some respect :D

Made me laugh seeing the words 'CFS' and 'core musical rhythm' in the same sentence.

We could send in that Gareth Malone fella?

I like the starman tune, right pace and fully original. These are the lyrics I'm sure the OP is onto something.
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

Swop Clarets for children and the original op with the swearing substituted for he plays like dynamite perhaps.
