Re: There’s a star man
My only concern with this is that the young kids in the CF will go "David Bowie song? Whose David Bowie?"ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 4:37 pmThere’s a star man

Re: There’s a star man
They seem ok with Buddy Holly and even Status Quo.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 4:40 pmMy only concern with this is that the young kids in the CF will go "David Bowie song? Whose David Bowie?"
Re: There’s a star man
A tad derogatory. I suspect a majority would ask “who is David Bowie”.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 4:40 pmMy only concern with this is that the young kids in the CF will go "David Bowie song? Whose David Bowie?"

If they don't know of "David Bowie" why would they ask who is David Bowie?Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 4:40 pmMy only concern with this is that the young kids in the CF will go "David Bowie song? Whose David Bowie?"
"Heroes" is a Bowie song and thats played before every home game so perhaps parents have told their kids about him because of that

Re: There’s a star man
Why not
There’s a star man
Running down the wing
His name is Manuel Benson
And he makes the turf moor sing
A rare song without swearing

Re: There’s a star man
I seem to remember we went through a phase of playing that before games. It didn't really work from what I recall.Longsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 4:55 pmNow we have fell out with them down the road about the tickets etc think it is time we started singing the wild rover as the players came out on to the pitch would get the stadium bouncing utc

Re: There’s a star man
It’s worth another try I wish we could have a song to sing along to like other clubs utc
Re: There’s a star man
I was in the JWS at Ewood, so I heard the Wild Rover at full pelt before kick-off. Not a fan.

Re: There’s a star man
Actually it’s very good . The CFS lot don’t really know any of the “ core musical rhythm” of half the songs , like the VK song/that awful JR do wah diddy etc , though doesn’t mean it can’t be picked up easily enough .

Re: There’s a star man
Made me laugh seeing the words 'CFS' and 'core musical rhythm' in the same sentence.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 7:01 amActually it’s very good . We could send in that Gareth Malone fella?
Re: There’s a star man
I like the starman tune, right pace and fully original. These are the lyrics I'm sure the OP is onto something.
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
Swop Clarets for children and the original op with the swearing substituted for he plays like dynamite perhaps.
