Trouble Sleeping / Waking Up at Night

Post by Rowls » Sun May 07, 2023 7:12 pm

Does anybody else have this problem?- I either wake up in the middle of the night or just plain can't get to sleep.

The problem is I keep dreaming that we won the Football League by beating B.Rovetsbat their place.

Sometimes I wake up laughing in the night. Other times I start chuckling just as I'm about to drift off.

Anybody else suffering?

Same here, I often wake up several times with a dry mouth. I have to drink constantly throughout the night but then have to compensate by going to the bloody toilet!

I normally fall asleep reading my Kindle but often pick it up in the early hours again to repeat the process

Have you had a diabetes check? , also reading your kindle is the worst thing you can do , so I’ve been told anyway .

Been checked for diabetes and my stats are good. I do take various pills which may affect my saliva at night. Can't go the bed without a book, been an avid reader most of my life so the Kindle is right up there with the greatest inventions for me :D

I have never had as good a night's sleep as I used to have when I smoked skunk.
The most relaxing and passive pastime I took part in.
So much so, that after over 5 years since I stopped smoking, I am very seriously considering sitting in my garden with a drink and a spliff this summer.
Life's too short to deny one self the pleasures. Self denying not helped when a childhood friend dies at only 54.
I only gave up because everyone else badgered me to, I actually enjoyed smoking.

I tried reading a Kindle to get to sleep, it would work right up to the point where I drop it into my face and wake myself with a shock. No I just listen to podcasts (any spoken word shows) to go to sleep (with cordless earphones). Usually asleep in 10 minutes, and easy to press play again if I wake up in the night

So many platforms of social media that allow people to publish with gay abandon, spelling and grammar no longer hold the level of discipline that was once held in regard by our fore fathers.

Wish I’d never smoked so much skunk in my formative years. Not good for depression and anxiety in later years…

I was in my 20's before I touched it, and even then it was solid, Moroccan black, slate, etc. Today's proper weed has been modified and is much more potent, it's great coz you don't get bomber holes in your top.

I tried talking books but the narrator just seemed to drone on and on...

Not sure that is what I'd call a problem, and I'm sure non of the Claret persuasion regard it as suffering ;)

Imagine, if you can - and I know it is difficult - the trials and tribulations of a horse bother faced with the same images as he/she tries to sleep. That would be a problem; that would be suffering, and in that case it wouldn't be a dream, it would be a nightmare.

Sweet dreams.

When I'm struggling to get to sleep, I count the points gap between ourselves and the Dollopers.

Dry mouth is something I've been left with since I had COVID over 2 years ago, I ended up with pneumonia and a stay on the covid ward in Blackburn, recovered but the worst thing is this dry mouth, kind of lips sticking together tongue to roof of mouth, never eased so i suck sweets, drinks etc, it was defined something to do with the illness.

There are plenty of herbal teas on the market to assist Sleep and induce Calm and a mug before retiring also helps with hydration etc.
