The Parade

Post by NewClaret » Tue May 09, 2023 9:15 am

Not seen it discussed much on here or elsewhere.

Who’s going then? Where are you aiming for?

I’m really hoping it’s a great turnout and the whole town heads down to give this fantastic team the send off it deserves.

Travelling up from Bury for it.

These moments don’t happen often, you’ve got to savour them.

Never take these things for granted, it may never happen again.

I’m sucking every last ounce out of it all.

Is the route they're taking easily available to view? I will go and Google but if anyone has a quick link I might get myself over for it if I can get a good spot!

The roads are already being closed around the town hall area if people are coming into Burnley today.

The weather forecast has changed for the better, so that's great news.

I'm unsure about going down though. The loud music crap yesterday put a bit of a downer on the celebrations.
Getting the p.a system fixed in the upper longside has nearly deafened me.
At least this should be a proper celebration with players songs rolled out for the occasion.

Think much of it is a live feed on the club’s YouTube according to my app, that and SSN will be my viewing location, was there yesterday but the biggest stand the JHU didn’t really get front row seats of the celebrations which tended to be in front of the CFS and JMS so it will be nice to see it closer up rather than another long drive over.

I'll be having a walk down with the kids, I remember how much I loved them as a child.

Yeah definitely one for the kids to make lifetime memories.

Hope the whole town gets behind it, even if you’re not big Burnley/football fans the club do so much for the community it would be good for everyone to show them their support.

Definitely brightened up since this morning. We deserve it after yesterday being so grim.

6.15pm - players arrive at Town Hall (then interviews)
7.00pm - open top bus departs to Turf Moor
8.00pm - bus arrives at Turf Moor

There's nothing happening at Turf Moor, apparently, I assume it's a private players' reception.

Just been for a walk down Manchester Road, there's a giant (I mean - GIANT) TV showing Tella and Benson knocking goals in for fun 😃

JJ sounds like he’s expecting another party tonight

Really looking forward to it & good luck to them, they deserve it.

I wish I could be there but I'll be watching on the club stream, I can't believe anyone would chose not to to go if they lived locally
