Probably my favourite player this season (is it still this season?). I love to see a ball playing centre back and one who reads the game so well. He has been a great signing.
What a brilliant way to kick off the summer transfer activity. Can’t wait to see him developing even further at the higher level. Beyer has a high ceiling.
Made up with this news. I keep banging on about it but what a 12 months it has been. It just keeps getting better!

Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
Really good news. Not only was he a serious contender for player of the season, but his improvement through the season means he could have been most improved player - and he was a good 'un when he signed. His physical development has been remarkable.
Next season I suspect it is quite likely he and Al Dakhil will play together quite a bit, and whilst they're inexperienced, they'll be one of the fastest centre half pairings in the Premier League. Which for a newly promoted team is quite unsual.

I don't think a fee has been mentioned

Get in. All the loanees we want permanent are special and I'd be buzzing from all their signatures... but this is the one I'm ecstatic about.

Ben Gibson was a decent defender with PL experience when we signed him.
I don't think many of us thought it a bad deal at the time of signing.

Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
Great news Tony-he is the closest centre half for quality to Martin Dobson when he became a sweeper. For those that never saw Martin play, thats one of the greatest compliments you could pay Beyer. The club is really getting its act together, and I think this is the first step in making Tella and Maatsen feel they want to stay too, and remain part of this very exciting adventure
Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
Great work by the club to get him on loan with an option to buy. Just imagine how good he will be after a summer/pre season with VK !!!
Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
Was Andy Jones where I got the €15m from.

The first time I saw him live I couldn’t believe how good he was. I’m absolutely delighted he’s staying and we certainly aren’t messing around. UTC.

Tella next fingers crossed, Maatsen not sure about him I personally don't think he'd be strong enough for the Premier league but if Kompany wants him then that's good enough for me, this is going to be an exciting transfer window
Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
we've been spoilt with centre halfs in recent years - notably Mee & Tarks. This lad has tghe potential to surpass them and become a top defender. Fits exactly the profile that we have been looking for, young and with the ability to develop and add value. Excellent news!

He has the potential to go to the very top. Our CBs will get coaching from one of the very best defenders in PL history.
This is a great start to the window.

Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
The only player who's made me laugh in disbelief and go "how have we got HIM?" to the same degree as Steven Defour is Jordan Beyer.
He absolutely took the **** in the Championship, his defensive stats were phenomenal and his ball playing is unreal. Ekdal was in the top 2% of CBs for most ball playing measures, and Beyer was still way ahead of him.
The guy has all the skills to go to the very top. What a signing.

Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
I’ve heard a variety of fees, most recently €15m. I’ll be shocked if that was his value last summer when he was completely out of the reckoning. If it is, have to imagine it’s heavily incentive based.

Borussia Mönchengladbach might be huge JJ Watt fans so they’ve given us Jordan for free.

Would you rather have Beyer for £15m at his age or Harry Maguire for the same fee ?

Just fantastic! What a week so far...
Win 3-0
Notch 100+ points
Kompany signs 5 year contract
Rovers miss out of play offs
Lift Football League Trophy at Turf Moor
Presentation and open top bus parade
Beyer signs permanent
And to top it off, although this hasn't hit the headlines so much, yesterday I cooked a perfect poached egg.

An absolute Rolls Royce of a CH.
Never looks flustered because as someone else said he reads the game so well.

Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
Great player but let's not get ahead of ourselves. He still has a lot to prove in the Premier League. Defending will mean a lot more and running out from the back will matter a lot less.
The gap in quality is tremendous, and he will find it hard but I have faith in Kompany's judgement, if he thinks he can do it then I'll trust him.
He already had one taste of what to expect versus Manchester City.

Re: ARTICLE: Beyer signs four year deal with the Clarets
We judge the readiness of the players for the step up based on what we see at the lower level. In that respect, we are no different to managers and coaches. So I’m not worried that he’s unproven at PL level, and nor should anyone else be.
Beyer is the best centre half at the club, and now he’s ours. With Beyer, Ekdal and Al dakhil, we have a competent group of centre halves. Add another season from THB and I’d say our business at that end of the pitch is more or less done.
Excellent business, seriously delighted with this news.
