Remember Dieter very well, my Uncle farmed the neighbouring farm to him, I too have his book. We used to help him with haymaking.
I’m Skipton born and bred, still live there. Became a Burnley fan because my Dad drove the Pennine bus to the games from Skipton and I could sneak on for free.

Cic - I'd suspect that you would know my Uncle too then I know he helped Addyman's during haymaking and would guess he'd help Dieter too.

Norman Thompson, he lived up Regents Drive with my Auntie Yvonne and son Angus, who incidentally arrives to stay at at mine on Tuesday - all the way from Tasmania.
Knew Norman very well, yes he helped Dieter with haytime, Jack Addyman used to make the hay for him as he only had silage tackle. I live just above Regents Road and walk past the house on my way out for a pint. No doubt Angus will call at the Addyman’s whilst he is over. It’s a small world.
I remember a story about Norman when he was working at Silsden, and he went to work on his push bike. There was a time trial along the road to the roundabout at Kildwick from Skipton, and a lad was taking part on a fancy racing bike. He knew Norman, but was slightly taken aback as Norman said hello as he overtook him on his sit up and beg Sturmy Archer 3 speed bike on his way to work!

Born in Bank Hall hospital in 1960. Left Burnley in 1963 but went back regularly to visit family and went on t'Turf with my uncle and cousin.
Lived in Stevenage, Glenrothes (Fife), Milnrow, Leighton Buzzard and, for the last 40 years, Milton Keynes.

Born in Bank Hall hospital late 50s, first went on the turf aged 4 and with all the games I have attended home and away thought of myself as a decent burnley fan, until I read this thread, in league terms I am non league, fair play to you all.
Also thanks to Sean and Vincent for their help to keep this club growing, I once went to Southampton and was concerned that I was one of the youngest of our fans there and at the time I was getting on a bit.
The kids are back in numbers now just like it was when I was a lad.
You are more than a decent Claret. Everyone who has posted on this thread has Burnley FC in their Claret blood, no matter where you are from or how you got indoctrinated as a Claret. You can't change that. I was in a bar in Montevideo, Uruguay, quite a few years ago when this 45 year old guy walk in with his missus wearing the BFC Endsleigh shirt. I had to say something to him. He was born in Accy, went to few games at the Turf but left with his family to go to Alberta Canada when he was 12. He said he follows BFC all the time on radio

I don't remember that nightclub, but I remember a great pub called The Spider's Web. Great jukebox.

Hampstead during the week, near Bath rest of time. Can't style out football shirts any more, but BFC wooly hat is a regular feature in winter. I should pick up a Vinny cap for summer or a golf umbrella perhaps..

My dad and his dad were both born and raised in Burnley, so that's my Claret bloodline, now passed on to my kids and grandkids. Have never lived in Burnley so covered many miles over the years following the lads. I'm born Fleetwood, lived in Hutton, the Potteries, Liverpool, London, Southend, Carlisle and York before emigrating 21 years ago. Over here lived at the NJ Shore before moving to Rochester NY, then finally to Philly a few years ago when grandchildren started appearing.
Distance and age, I have discovered , does not dim the passion for the Clarets 😎🍺

Burnley born and bred, became a nomad many years ago, living in many different countries, having 4 children along the way, 3 born back in Burnley but oldest daughter born in Kuwait, where (obviously) we were living at the time. Children are BFC supporters :)

Now the home base is Houston, in the great State of Texas. We have been here a long time but even during that time, we have lived in 3 different countries/cities while always coming home, Doha, Manila & London. Life long BFC supporter and will die one.

I have tried to be a Burnley ambassador for decades, spreading the name and the club far and wide across the globe, know a few people who have BFC as their second team as a result> The JJ Watt involvement has seen lot's of friends asking me if it was my team that he has gotten involved with, obviously I was delighted every time to re-educate them and spread the word :)

Born and raised in South Warwickshire. Followed in my Dad’s footsteps… my 10year old son has followed suit.

Surprising amount of Clarets in the Midlands!

Born in Keighley 1954, several house moves later find myself in Minskip, North Yorkshire.
Whilst my grandma lived in Burnley, Rosehill, that is not why I started supporting the Clarets. My mate did and his dad had a car, so that’s why I started going. The old git still sits next to me.
First match March 1969, Forest, although around 1960, I remember my uncle taking me to a reserve match at the Turf.

Born in Nelson. Moved to Bacup when I was 18 months old until I was 5 when I moved to Morecambe. From there moved to Ashton in Makerfield when I was 10 and have resided in the Wigan area ever since. Attended 4 primary/junior schools. Moved so much due to my father being in the Police force. First match was against Ipswich in the 62/63 season which we won 3-1. Sat in the Brunshaw Road stand. My mother put me on a Standerwick Bus from Morecambe Bus station to Burnley where I was picked up by my grandad. Hard to believe looking back.

What you're effectively saying is that people who no longer live in Burnley should either stop supporting the Clarets, or should keep quiet and accept that they're now less qualified to comment?

Or that people who aren't originally from Burnley aren't welcome into the Clarets family?

Thankfully a minority view

What you're effectively saying is that people who no longer live in Burnley should either stop supporting the Clarets, or should keep quiet and accept that they're now less qualified to comment?

Or that people who aren't originally from Burnley aren't welcome into the Clarets family?

Thankfully a minority view
It really didn't deserve a response.

Yes bloody well said Croydon Claret.
You don't have to live in Burnley to be a Clarets fan. People have lives to live, geography as to where fans are now is totally irrelevant.

People like "equinox" are not deserving of being a true Claret. Vincent Kompany, Bellamy, Jackson, all the players, the board, the background staff, and all who work for Burnley, most of whom don't actually live in Burnley, but are probably more proud to be a Claret than "equinox" .
There are 200 replies to this interesting thread and just the one sole negative from ' equinox " being totally disrespectful to all Clarets fans all over the Globe sharing fabulous stories and circumstances.
I'm guessing equinox is a teenager still pulling his plonker in public toilets.

People need to be held to account when there's no dislike option

A lot of re- located or people with no connection to the the town post on here trying desperately to have an affinity with the place and Club, particularly when we're doing well.
Good bait. Caught a few whoppers here.
