Need to spend £10m just to meet PL requirements but yeah the timing makes it a challenge. The suggestion is they might have to play at Stadium MK isn’t it?warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 8:51 pmLuton have a very bright manager in Edwards-destined for better things with a good CV. Re: Luton v Sunderland
I'm really impressed with Luton's pressing.
Re: Luton v Sunderland
Happy to see Luton win this one. Don’t want a team who could average 45,000 a week anywhere near the premier league.

They’ve said they are going to spend £10m on the ground if they go up to allow PL football to be played therewarksclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 8:51 pmLuton have a very bright manager in Edwards-destined for better things with a good CV. Re: Luton v Sunderland
They’ve got planning permission. It’s right in the town centre but I don’t know when they are starting on it.
Re: Luton v Sunderland
Well he won't have to worry if Luton go up.
Re: Luton v Sunderland
Don’t know how we managed to keep Luton out at Kenilworth rd.Ekdal, and Taylor were our centre backs.

Sunderland have hung in here and you’d have to fancy they will get a chance before the night is out.

It's like a team of men against an U16s team.
I feel sorry for Sunderland, but no doubt Luton are worthy of this.

Absolutely, but they’ve been absolutely panned and yet may be just one good chance away from taking this the distance.

Work on a 23k capacity stadium on the site of a former power station in the town centre scheduled to start by the end of the year
As has been mentioned estimated £10M spend to bring Kenilworth Road up to PL standard. Think they need to redevelopment the stand along one side that looks like it consists of a series of boxes

Can’t believe they’re being allowed to build a football stadium on the nicest part of the town.EarbyClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 9:45 pmWork on a 23k capacity stadium on the site of a former power station in the town centre scheduled to start by the end of the year

Those were considered to be ground breaking at the time they were constructed when Luton were in the old Division 1, built as executive boxes.EarbyClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 9:45 pmThink they need to redevelopment the stand along one side that looks like it consists of a series of boxes

I like the back of the ‘Welcome to Luton’ sign.
Re: Luton v Sunderland
A series of boxes makes it sound almost corporate. They’re more like hand-me-downs from Safestyle’s 1984 patio door sale.EarbyClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 9:45 pmWork on a 23k capacity stadium on the site of a former power station in the town centre scheduled to start by the end of the year

It’s one of those southern towns that comes immediately to mind when southerners are critical of the north.
