Today's podcast leaves no one in doubt on their position re the drummer and the general atmosphere at Turf Moor - I think they are right

Only one so far to have be spurting my cup of tea out in laughter. Really recommend the owners listen to it, and Russell if he can take polite, constructive criticism

Just listened to it and I just have to say I thought you got it absolutely spot in with the drummer and describing the follow up email, which was sent to SOME season ticket holders, as patronising.

It only went to some ST holders? Even more patronising - I feel like it’s definitely my fault that the atmosphere is flat now!

Can confirm I didn't receive the email either

And Vincent Kompany didn't say he wanted to make the Turf a fortress (which I've always assumed is a place where you win more often than not) - he actually said that he wanted us to make it HELL. I'm not sure how you do that with a banging drum. What's worrying is someone will probably be on a decent salary to come up with ideas like this.

Atmosphere's shite. Like an awkward prom/leavers do where everyone is too afraid to be the first one to dance. No wonder someone at the club has been tasked with chucking darts to try and get a racket going. Instead of giving side-eye to anyone who dares to try getting a chant going, how about joining in?

I think it’s HELL for the poor ******* sat next to the drummer! But agree - it’s this weird ‘it’s an entertainment business’ thought dump that ends up coming up with ideas like this.

New episode out now! A depleted pod squad discuss Lyle's new deal, preview the Bournemouth game (in which I suggest Redmond at right back!) and look at some ALK bits including the rumoured Dundee deal.

Just caught up with this

There is a clear misunderstanding as to who Alexander Ryazantsev, Burnley FC's CFO advisor is - He is most definitely not the the club's second largest shareholder, and new club director Vladimir Torgovnik'

You’re absolutely right Chester. I’ve no idea how I managed to confuse the two of them (at the time we announced the new director my brain clearly confused the two and it’s remained the same since).

Thanks for the clarification (and the usual superb due diligence of the financials).

Lads, just listened to the Palace debrief - recorded on 5th November, yet no mention of your bonfire night deadline?! Unless I missed it, I was driving

Another good one, it must be getting so difficult to find positives.

I enjoyed this and am happy to bump, however, I can't fathom any Burnley fans who ponder why a team sits deep and then clinically wins a match 1 or 2-0 given we spent about ten years doing it.

I remember listening to some Rotherham fans bemoaning a 1 or 2-0 loss at Turf way back in 15/16 on the basis they had dominated possession and we were the worst side they'd played all season (even though we were top).

At the time I remember thinking 'aye everyone says the same' but the result was never in doubt.

Short memories some folk....!

I was surprised to hear the guys saying Crystal Palaces play confused them because they sat back so much and I was surprised they also made several comments about us being the much better team. Even suggesting the score should have been the other way around!

For me it was clear, they played for the counter attack and their first priority was to defend well away from home. They did and it's no surprise to see they have a decent away record. Their game plan was executed perfectly and they deserve credit for their victory. It wasn't hard for them because we just can't score at the moment but they still deserve credit.

We were toothless again and gifted them the opportunity. There's been plenty of times in the past where we won to similar tactics and there's beauty in both good attack and defence.

Counter attacking away from home is the perfect strategy and it's not the first time we got undone by a team doing it. Tottenham Hotspur invited pressure so they could hit us on the break.

If we didn't gift them their goal then it's very likely they would have scored a goal like their second anyway. We failed to take advantage of our chances and control the game and at the moment it doesn't seem to matter how much of the ball we have or how many chances we get, we just can't score.

On Turfcast pre match show, the Palace fan said they’d been strong in defence so far this season, would sit back and simply break at pace…….

And so it came to be.

Agree, it was horrible to watch it was so easy for them. Never for a minute thought we were going to score.

It's Roy Hodgson to a tee - I thought Palace played very well and players like Ayew and Doucore are so disciplined as well as possessing pace and skill.

Will take a listen later on my dog walk. The podcast is great - probably the best one out there now for BFC content. I like the nature of the chat. No know it alls - just good honest chat - some trying to squeeze out the positives and others saying it as they see it (it also helps that you were 80's/90's Clarets too so you've all seen the truly bad times and also enjoyed and endured the ups and downs of the 90's).

On the manager situ I think we just have to back him and get behind him. It's been really disappointing and frustrating but who is going to come in and get this group of players to play any better? Who is going to command the respect? Don't forget most of these players signed because they wanted to play for Vincent Kompany.

I would like VK to come out and publicly state that, unless the decision is taken out of his hands, he will still be BFC manager next season no matter which league we find ourselves in. The worst scenario sees us keep faith with VK only for him to walk away at the end of the season and us having to re-start again with a new manager/set of players in the C'ship.

The only thing I disagree with is this sort of view that’s coming out that Dyche was a season by season sort of short term manager when his tenure properly levelled us up - new training ground, established for a few years in the PL, club sale etc. That really was some project.

Thought it was a fair discussion, Bodes probably the most worried its fair to say, but we all have our expectations of a Premier League side and we all differ.

Mine is that we have gone a decade with plenty of nous and energy but not much flair or creativity, now we have the flair and need patience while the creativity improves as well as the nous. I’m happy to progress as we are, if we stay up, great, if not, we tried. Chopping and changing managers is counter productive and may lead to a continual decline and the end of this great 15 year story. We should keep Kompany long term no matter what. His only flaws are a lack of experience and by definition that comes in time.

I felt a few of the guys seemed to have a similar mindset and it's good to have a variety of opinions.

Good episode of what I have got through so far.

Enjoyed the discussions but the key points for me were.

- Settled team and its showing with improvements in performances. Best team performance in first 85 mins.
- Trafford isn't showing to be any better than Muric (yet) and whilst had a decent game, there price tag is still at the forefront of everyones minds
- Tactics of taking Amdouni and Koleosho were poor choices as they were stopping their defenders pushing forwards. I think if they are left on, the goals don't come. It gave them impetus.
- How you can have 4 players around the west ham player before he got the cross off for the 1st goal and not stop that is scandalous.
- 2ND goal was equally questionable from a defensive perspective.

This podcast is fantastic , like chatting to your mates about footy with all differing opinions.

I do think we should keep VK, there’s a long term project in process and he did mention hard times this season , let’s help them through it and hopefully we can start picking points up in time to make it interesting and not just go out with a whimper .

Really good podcast that IC -

Jamie Hoyland was absolutely spot on - especially about what the fans want/expect of players.

It’s something that I don’t think significant members of the club properly understand.

Just like to add -

The segment about the Branthwaite scouting / differing of opinions with the young scout and data analysts says it all to me.

Reinforces the need imo to have scouts.

Really good podcast that IC -

Jamie Hoyland was absolutely spot on - especially about what the fans want/expect of players.

It’s something that I don’t think significant members of the club properly understand.
Jamie was really good to listen to last week

He was great yes - talked a lot of sense and you can tell he still really has the passion for the game.

It was very tempting to call it that. Could have applied to one or two people we talked about!

New episode out now - picking apart the Everton performance, looking at where we go from here plus the club's ticketing policy which led to Everton fans in the home end. Fair to say it's a bit of a rant-y one!

Great pod lads again - especially you're point on the 'Country club' reference. Exactly how I feel about it and the lack of knowledge about the game in important positions in the club.

Depressing and frustrating. Annoying that more fans can't nor dare to comment on it.
