The Strongest Burnley 11 Under Dyche

Post by warksclaret » Fri May 26, 2023 5:58 pm

Of all the players who played for Burnley under Sean Dyche what would your best 11 be. I will kick off in "true SD 442"

Pope
Trippier Tarks Mee Ward
McNeil De Four Barton Arfield
Ings Austin

Subs :
Heaton, Lowton, Taylor, Keane, Cork, Westwood, Marney, Wood, Barnes

Goes without saying that it's the fully fit versions of Brady, Defour; it's the in-form versions of McNeil and Wood; and it's NOT the can't-be-arsed temporary versions on Ings and McNeil that we got sometimes.

If I took out McNeil & Ings for Brady & Hendrick then I’ve reached the team that basically took us into fourth place.

I thought of putting that whole team up . I really liked what we were doing then.

We got several harsh refereeing calls aginst bigger names than ourselves earlier in the season when Brady and Defour were on fire. It could (and should) have been even better than it was.

Incredible to think with that team (squad) we were going away from home and we'd have a chance of getting something from the majority of matches. We only lost seven times.

------------Pope
Trippier-Tarky-Mee-Ward
JBG--Defour-Barton*-Arfield
-------Wood--Ings

*Cork if we're including level at the time of playing for Burnley

But for all that, I agree with Tony's team although Arfield would run very close to a place over JBG.

Who cares it is in the past, he now manages a club who will sack him at the end of the season.
