Leeds fans
Re: Leeds fans
Hopefully people saved the trestle tables and benches from the Coronation the other week and street party’s are in full flow this evening. Marching down together. Good riddance to the odious Yorkshire tw@ts.

Re: Leeds fans
Is that the same historic club that weren’t even elected into the league until 1920 and didn’t win anything until the mid 60s in their massive rugby city. Good riddance and long may they stay where they belong. Massive club my arse.

Re: Leeds fans
Never forget the game at the Turf in 68 or 69 when we beat them 5-1. Ralph Coates took the ball to the corner flag and sat on it. The sharpened coins rained down on our heads in the Longside; don’t talk to me about great away fans.

Re: Leeds fans
I live in Leeds. They’re in danger of losing a generation of supporters due to not expanding the ground. Relegation will not help. They’re stuck in the 20th century. Within the city, Rhinos seem to be as well-supported as LUFC and do a lot more for the community. LUFC have big regional draw obviously.

Re: Leeds fans
If they’d have had a few more regional draws they may have stayed up
Re: Leeds fans
Huge city 800,000 population huge catchment area Wakefield Dewsbury Keithley Ilkley large towns without football clubs etc. Not huge support at all. Not even close to Manchester, Merseyside or Sheffield. Marching on to nowhere.

Re: Leeds fans
Spoke to one of my Leeds friends yesterday, he said after this last season he's quite looking forward to the championship where most teams can beat each other, he thought there’s no reason why they can’t follow our lead. They may well lose one or two players but if I was a betting man I’d back them to come straight back up.

Re: Leeds fans
Leeds take over leaves their outlook completely in the balance.
If the new Owners know what they are doing, they could come straight back. A Todd Boehly on the other hand could see them in League 1.
Fingers crossed

Re: Leeds fans
They may well enjoy life in the Championship, but as things stand (i.e. not knowing what managerial appointments will be made, and who will stay and who will go), I already only make them nor more than 3rd favourites to go up - behind Leicester and Southampton, and there'll probably be a few strong "Championship" teams as well.beddie wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 8:20 amSpoke to one of my Leeds friends yesterday, he said after this last season he's quite looking forward to the championship where most teams can beat each other, he thought there’s no reason why they can’t follow our lead. I can see the Championship being a really tough league to get out of next season.
Re: Leeds fans
Yes I’d agree with that Colburn. Interestingly the way I read Big Sam talking yesterday about what’s required I got the impression he’d now like the job full time and get them backup. It was the phrase where he mentioned talking to the owners about his position. I assumed he was taken on for the remaining 4 games only and then paid off. In fairness it’s not a bad job if he can swing it.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 12:16 pmLeeds take over leaves their outlook completely in the balance.

Re: Leeds fans
I don't think BFS showed anything in those 4 games, to suggest he can make a team. There was no sign of any bounce, no signs of a change of strategy. The only team change was dropping Meslier, which was a no brainer. I can understand why Leeds fans would be worried.beddie wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 1:28 pmYes I’d agree with that Colburn. Re: Leeds fans
Yes I get what you mean Colburn but I’m thinking one or two of the current crop move on and he gets in a few battlers of his own, as we know the Championship is a different league. He’ll know who the shirkers and grafters were.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 2:58 pmI don't think BFS showed anything in those 4 games, to suggest he can make a team. Re: Leeds fans

BFS may have looked at Sheffield United this season and decided he can be successful in the Championship with "functional" football.

Natives aren't happy.
Does this mean that the Company which was going to take over now aren't? He was going to use that money to buy Sampdoria.

From BBC gossip… “Englishmen Steven Gerrard, 43, and Scott Parker, 42, are being considered for the Leeds United manager's job along with West Bromwich Albion's Spanish boss Carlos Corberan, 40.”

Re: Leeds fans
Corberan was approached when Marsch was sacked wasn’t he? He was previously Bielsa’s assistant.simonclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 11:48 pmFrom BBC gossip… “Englishmen Steven Gerrard, 43, and Scott Parker, 42, are being considered for the Leeds United manager's job along with West Bromwich Albion's Spanish boss Carlos Corberan, 40.”
Re: Leeds fans
It's a way for West brom to get in a transfer fee, and if he wants to take a couple of players, maybe more.
Still, you have to hope they go for Gerrard, Lampard, another American. Maybe they could try and tempt emma Hayes, and we can see how that goes.
