Seats removed and the turf looking in good knick.

Can we expect to see many more changes?

I don't like it. Much preferred it when the pitch was a proper rectangle than this ridiculous banana shape.

Pitch looks good.

We saw a pic taken from a drone recently which showed those seats missing in the lower tier block. No idea what they are doing there.

Safe standing perhaps? If the club had applied for that would it be public knowledge?

Definitely not. I think that's the area where they might have been suspending supporters for standing last season.

Re: Safe standing, I believe there is no appetite to install any ahead of this new season but if and when we do it is going to be in the CFS.

It's structural work to the stand, I spoke to one of the maintenance guys last season when the new seats were put in, and he commented 'that they'd have to come back out again next season anyway'. It looks like they are just working on the one block at the moment.

The pitch looks great.

Daft we’ve not upgraded the CFS to rail seating this summer in my opinion.

The cricket field would look great with the bag 2/3 being safe standing. Couldn’t do all the stand as for the away fans you have to keep some normal seats. I was hoping they would do it this season but maybe to get all the permissions it couldn’t be done in time? Hopefully it gets done next summer.

I wouldn't spend a penny more than we have to on that stand, until we decide if it's going to be replaced within the next 2-5 years ...

The CFS has been being replaced ‘in the next few years’ for the last 25 years. It’ll outlive all of us.

You have a point, to use a Burnley phrase, " It seems to be the " creaking gate " of Football Stands ....

All this talk of "safe standing", are there any statistics of injuries at turf moor due to standing fans?
JHL blocks 1 -3 all normally stand, along with most of the CFS including the away lot. Thats a lot of fans standing at theur seats, but what says it is actually unsafe?

Anything but safe. I've seen incidents where people have pushed forward and it's been like a domino effect with people getting injured. Standing on the old terracing was much safer than the situation we have now.

On the subject of JHL 1-3, isn't this where people had season tickets suspended for standing.

You make a good point of what is actually safe/unsafe about standing, from my own personal point of view, I suffer with my right knee a lot and so when having to stand for 90 minutes it would be great to have a barrier (which "safe standing" offers) to lean on during the game to take the weight off my knee.

Imagine you are stood and the person behind accidentally pushes you. It could see you pushed over the seat in front etc, etc. There are so many cases of this happening. Totally agree too with the rail taking the weight off your knee. The difference for me in standing in a standard seating area compared to standing with a rail is massive.

It isn't. It's just had the usual annual summer works done.

Assumed as much. Pretty sure we would’ve got rid of the Astro given how much Vinny hates it, had we had a new pitch.

I did ask if there were any actual injury statistics? or indeed from any ground. I agree its not as safe as the old barrier system although I spent many a game as a lad having the air pushed out of me by the weight of the Longside pushing forward. All part of the experience tehn!

I think 2 people were moved into JHU for standing, not sure why they were singled out. Everyone else continued to stand including the CFS.
