At one time, that wouldn’t have been that unusual…bus driver…window cleaner…fish and chip shop owner.

What a goal he scored on his league debut. I remember thinking, 'what a player we've signed here!'

Yep, the winner I think? Two right backs scored for us (Duffy too?) after we'd gone 1-0 down in the first minute.

Edit: it was the equaliser and their goal was 15 seconds! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Znk_dWUpTDw

Was he one of the centre backs in the debacle at Ipswich? The 6-1 game.

He was, alongside the even more inept Graham Branch. Stan described it as kindergarten stuff.

Rather ironic really that he ended up on a building site.

I would take offence to that comment if I ran a kindergarten to be honest.....

I’m pretty sure both scoring right backs weren’t playing right back that day either. They were playing left and right midfield

Roche was very much a part of the post ITV Digital “cobbled together squad” era.

They were. We had Michael Duff & Mo Camara at full back.

Is Lee Roche the guy who started up a vegan / eco business?

Or was that Eckersley?

That was Eckersley.

Articles like this irritate me.

Working on a building site suggests he’s labouring for minimum wage.

As it transpires, he owns his own cavity wall insulation business.
