Scored some great goals for us. As well as the Ewood winner, he scored the first one on our comeback to the EPL vs Chelsea, an absolute belter at Brentford and I remember a late winner that he steered home vs Everton.

It was a sad day when he left TM I hope all goes well for him in the US.

One of my favourites of the Dyche era was Arfield. Maximum effort in every game, and had some real quality on the ball, wasn't just a workhorse. Fabulous player at Championship level.

No idea - apparently had more than one offer but I suspect they were probably just one year deals.

The Scotland snub was a bit weird. Wales and both Irelands are super keen on snagging any tenuous link to get players declaring for them, but it seemed that Arfield was somehow beneath Scotland when really Scotland is beneath everyone else.

The Head of Recruitment at Charlotte FC is Steve Walsh. Steve is a former Team Manager of Chorley Schools and Lancashire Schools before leaving teaching initially to scout for Mourinho at Chelsea FC. He was Head of Recruitment for Leicester City FC when they won the Premier League before moving on to Everton FC and now Charlotte FC. Incidentally British Ski Champion Dave Ryding was one of Steve's pupils at Bishop Rawstorme School.
