Never into him at the time but a hell of a voice and a very generous guy by all accounts. Listen without prejudice is a bit of a classic in hindsight.

Fabulous singer and songwriter Faith is a great album, with songs like Hand to mouth about the American Dream, Look at Your Hands , which looked at domestic violence and Monkey, about drugs. Plus all of the singles. Such a change of direction from Wham! A masterpiece, which is still current, 36 years after release.

Definitely talented, you don't sell as many records as he did if you aren't, that's not strictly true any old crap sells nowadays but his music will last & be played over & over, I don't really know many of his songs but I like - one more try & a different corner smooth FM seem to regularly play.

Fantastic musician and performer. His songs have held up really well and some of the songwriting on Listen Without Prejudice, in particular, is brilliant. A flawed person but clearly helped a lot of people along the way with little fuss.

I don't know if it's true or not but I heard after he died it became apparent just how much he donated to various charities which is the measure of the man.

Yes, all true - he didn't publicise anything and the people he had helped spoke out after he died. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/ ... urses-gigs

Really talented guy, such a shame how his life ended, as before a genuinely lovely kind person as well.

George Michael was a brilliant singer songwriter and a decent human being. I hated how the gutter press hounded him because of his sexuality and indiscretions.
I would also echo the above about his kindness and generosity. Martin Kemp spoke really highly about the way George helped him after he had had his life threatening brain tumour.

In my formative years I was into bands and thought of GM as a pop star who mainly appealed to the ladies. Having matured, allegedly, I listen to his back catalogue and really appreciate what a truly world class talented artist he was.
Apart from Adele, I can't think of any newish artists of such calibre.

Not my kind of music, however his generosity, without the usual ostentatious publicity, shows that his kindness and altruism was the real deal.

Not really my taste in music but I saw him at Earls Court around 2005. Quite simply the best singer I have ever seen. His voice was absolutely flawless.
