Post by AGENT_CLARET » Sun Jun 18, 2023 9:58 am

To all the dads and grandads and to those that are no longer with us but are in our thoughts today

Yes, I'm spending a bit of time thinking about (& being thankful for) my great (long deceased) dad whilst I'm lapping up my own children's messages today.

Thinking of my dad today, nearly 2 years since he passed. Made to smile by my kids though, various gifts and cards - feeling loved

44 years since my Dad died. Still miss him.
But lots of love from my own 3 adult kids and 5 grandkids.

A difficult day. 36 years since my Dad died and still miss him every day. Took 25 years until I could watch the video of him doing a work presentation. He passed on many skills- how to balance a cheque book, how to wire a plug, how to use the gears in a car rather than the brake to control speed, particularly when going down Brunshaw Road from Pike Hill or Rossendale Road from the Summit, to name a few. Plenty of photos, but it's his voice I miss most.

Yes ditto to all Father’s and Grandads. I too think of my day, especially today, he died suddenly some 53 years ago, I was 16. Where have those years gone. Anyway, let’s all be grateful for what we have/had. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Special thoughts about my late dad today, I'm getting spoilt rotten today by my children and grandchildren, love being a dad.

The biggest moment in my life was becoming a Dad.

The worst moment in my life was losing my Dad 21 years ago. Think about him everyday.

A difficult day. I was a Dad until cancer took my only kid when he was 18, and I miss him every day.

My thoughts are with you. I couldn't begin to imagine what it would be like to lose my kids.

When you still think about your child, you are still a dad and always will be.A truly unimaginable loss.

Like a few on this thread, I lost my dad some time ago, will be 34 years in August, but then I saw BennyD's post. It really should never be that way round, so sorry that you lost your son so young.

My Dad passed 37 years ago and Father’s Day is special
To try and add some cheer to those of us who miss their Dads but will always be in some pain at the loss of a child
By the time you realise that your Dad was right you will have a son who thinks you are wrong

You are still a Dad Benny, that's why you miss and think of your boy everyday..
