Re: Ashes Second Test
The Aussies will always go after a new bowler, as they would have targeted the spinner.
It's not a problem if the 3 80mph bowlers keep it tight like they should.

Lords being deceptive again. Always looks a bowl first pitch and then runs get racked up.

Re: Ashes Second Test
Tongue done well - shows what a bit of variance in the attack does.
Whilst Broad/Jimmy/ Robinson are brilliant they all bowl at around the same pace with a ‘similar’ style…
Ideally we need a left arm seamer and someone that can consistently push 90mph

That's why Australia are no1 in the world on a wicket with movement they have played aggressive cricket and they have no need to as they are 1 up the sign of a great team.

When watching it you can see that the ball deviates before striking the pad. Both commentators on Sky saying bat first but one of the angles confused the issue.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 3:32 pmAm I missing something there? How was that not pad first

The ultra edge made me think it definitely hit pad first. You saw a little spike just before the bat hit itkentonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 3:36 pmWhen watching it you can see that the ball deviates before striking the pad. Re: Ashes Second Test
Confusing one, I didn’t think it was as clearcut as the commentators seemed to think. All I spotted was the ball deviate before striking the pad.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 3:38 pmThe ultra edge made me think it definitely hit pad first. I am sure they will show it again to confuse us even more.

Re: Ashes Second Test
Aussies already one up in the series and holders of The Ashes so they do not even have to bother about winning another game. They can just concentrate on not losing and when you have been put in to bat the objective will be to bat your opponents into oblivion. The two sessions so far have shown that they are very capable of doing this because, as Kevin Pietersen has pointed out, England have to be much better in their whole approach.
Are England victims of their own hype? Do they have a Plan B? Let's see what happens in this last session.

Re: Ashes Second Test
KP is asking for the England bowlers to significantly increase their pace up to the high 80’s mph but I cannot see Anderson, Broad or Stokes matching that. Two bowlers at the end of their careers and a captain who has to be careful not to overdo the bowling due to injury.
Re: Ashes Second Test
Jimmy sadly looking like a bowler close to lights out. Desperately hoping he can turn it around.

If we can somehow get another two wickets in before the close of play we’re back in it.

Re: Ashes Second Test
Having won the toss in ideal bowling conditions (green tinged wicket heavy overcast conditions) England should be in a commanding position not trying to get back in it.

Re: Ashes Second Test
Must admit I really don’t get it with Robinson.
Struggles to hit 80 mph and barely moves the ball. We have got to have better our there

Re: Ashes Second Test
has an avg of around 21 and is out bowling Jimmy so far in this series.
