Barnfield Gawthorpe

If you walk up to the Gawthorpe Training ground from Padiham Road, could someone please tell me whether the training ground is all private and sealed off. Thanks.

It isnt private and sealed off, but if you wandered down the pathway (Left just before you reach Gawthorpe) I'd imagine you'd be challenged.

As you walk up the lane from Burnley Rd. There is a fenced off pitch and other facilities such as the press room.

But the main training facilities are over the river.

I presume they have security on.

Totally secure now I think with 24x7 security.

It's not Barnfield either - they transferred their sponsorship to the cricket field stand two years ago.

I asked this the other week when I noticed all the articles the club were releasing referred to the “Burnley Training Centre”

For some reason, the club won't use the name Gawthorpe and now insist on it being the Burnley Training Centre. It will always be Gawthorpe to us though.

You see the training pitches clearly from the woods on Grove Lane or the bridge at Brookfoot.
Park on Grove Lane by the Baxi factory and follow the obvious path into the woods.
