Loyalty Points change
1 Only valid now on a 5-year rolling period
2 20 points to be awarded for an away ticket rather than 10 points.
Only points accrued since 2018 will now count which is, in effect, four years because of the behind closed doors season.

Any idea when this will change on our account section of the website so we know where we now stand?

Re: Loyalty Points change
Both are good moves imo.
Re: Loyalty Points change
Still a rubbish system, all season ticket holders should get the same priorities.

Re: Loyalty Points change
For those wanting to go to every away game the £250 membership doesn't seem that bad now putting just over £10 on a ticket. A huge percentage of the fan base will now be between 2-3000 points.

Re: Loyalty Points change
Personally think that’s a good decision. Been wanting a roll system as my preferred alternative so glad to see it is being introduced.
Be interesting to know the threshold for the tiers and how many people are in each one.

As someone who has about 9000 points (mainly due to length of service and going to away games when I was younger) this change is welcome

Re: Loyalty Points change
Yep, we’re all officially less loyal from the 7th July. I will be sad to see the points go, and with them the memories. This feels like a relegation to league 2 but a chance to rebuild and start again from the bottom.
Re: Loyalty Points change
Isn't it strange this come in shortly after a £250 membership scheme, first time I've felt against a decision made by Alan Pace.
Shocking decision(I've got the points by the way so not the issue!)

Re: Loyalty Points change
It doesn't tho because a younger fan starting this season would have no chance and by the time they have enough the closed up 5 year club has shut its doors.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 2:43 pmAt last some common sense, this puts the younger fan's on an equal footing
It's basically been made a closed club made by the 'fan advisory board'

Re: Loyalty Points change
Are points from the past 5 seasons still 10 for an away game or be updated to 20. Imagine they’ll stay at 10 and it’s just from this season onwards they’ll be worth 20.

They had no chance anyway if starting this season because they would be 23 years behind in the points system this way they catch up because its rolling

At last! A change for the better.
They need to make the selling windows sensible now, its got daft keeping it at 6000 points when eventually probably about 5000 people had that many.

Wonder what the first threshold for tickets will be? I rekon I’ve got about 2.5 since start of 18/19 season.

Will the 20 points per away be applied retrospectively or just going forward?
And is there a link to this anywhere as I can’t find it on the official site?

Re: Loyalty Points change
Despite benefitting from the current system due to having over 10,000 points for multiple family members I agree this change is fairer, fans who have a ST at home for all that time and go regularly away could end up getting an away ticket ahead of me, especially given the small rubbish allocations in the PL and the slice now given to premium members. I could moan about it but it seems fair given that most Saturday away games I play golf instead.

Re: Loyalty Points change
Finally. Amazing it's taken so long for something so obvious and sensible.
Most of our away games don't sell out, and at least not in the first window or two. So if you want tickets to the biggest away games, just go and start building up points. With this new system even if you're behind now, you'll soon catch up.
Hopefully they also start using a more data driven approach. It should be a lot clearer who's likely to go to away games, and what the cut off point is. No need for more than 3 windows. 3,000 tickets, then just set the threshold so only 3,000 people have that number. Any remaining go on sale to ST holders. Any still remaining after that go to general sale.

Re: Loyalty Points change
You've done well - I've got the maximum 1,400 for season tickets plus 830 for away tickets and 130 for home tickets = 2,360. Not sure how you've got to 2,800.1989_claret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 2:53 pmDone a very quick count and I have 2,800 in the new system. The old system I had 11,580.

Received an email on it. I’ve done my count based on older points being at 10 per away game as imagine they’ll start fresh this season at 20 points per game.

Have to say, I think this is a change for the better: puts younger fans on a more equal footing and encourages continuing loyalty.

Re: Loyalty Points change
I currently have in excess of 13k points and think I’ve got about 2.5k over last 5 seasons. Leaves me wondering if that will be enough for first dibs but I do think it’s fair. Young people were never going to get a chance of catching up. My wife’s been coming on games with me for 10 years plus now and still well behind so it’s good for her too.

Re: Loyalty Points change
Certainly be interesting to see the numbers going to away games going forward. All those who wanted to go but could never get a ticket despite not selling out many away games will now be able to attend.
Club should have no problem now selling out the max allocation even when we have lost some.

There's no reason the club can't use the 20 points retrospectively. It will be a simple algorithm that calculates peoples points.

Re: Loyalty Points change
Doubt you'll have any worries. We'll only have hundreds of fans who hardly miss an away game and have a ST. There'll be a lot who go to between a third and two thirds. With over 13,000 points you've much likely to be in the first bracket.colne-claret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 3:01 pmI currently have in excess of 13k points and think I’ve got about 2.5k over last 5 seasons. Same boat I was in. Stopped going to away games in 2013 as my daughter was born. Started going again properly in the last few seasons as financial circumstances change. This new system benefits me in the same way it hinders you….although the last system was the other way around.
