Re: New season ticket cards
26 days away from the season starting isn't cutting it fine
Re: New season ticket cards
2 weeks before isnt cutting it fine
Re: New season ticket cards
Thought they’d arrive before the new kit launch, seeing as you get incentives for spending money in the club shop if you’re a season ticket holder.

Considering how many away tickets weren't posted to my house last season I'll reserve judgement.

When I called in at the ticket office last week, I was told they are being printed.

Re: New season ticket cards
Said this before, but I really don’t understand the need for new cards to be issued every two years.
Unless your price category has changed or you’ve moved seats then there’s nothing wrong with your existing card.
It’s just a waste of time, money & resource

New season cards
Does anyone know when they're being sent out?
If they already have, then I haven't got mine.

Ridiculous state of affairs. Club need to get a grip of things like this. It’s just less than 3 weeks now until we need the cards.
Re: New season ticket cards
Relax. They're not needed/useless until 11th August.

Re: New season ticket cards
What if you are off on Holiday and won’t be back until the day before and find out the card hasn’t come? Or what if you are coming back on the same day as the game and want to go straight from the airport to the turf and aren’t able to go home first as you don’t live close? Despite what many seem to think not all season ticket holders live close to the turf.
I don’t know anyone in either situation but wouldn’t be surprised if someone is. Will be very little time to arrange new cards to be printed if any get lost in the post/they get send to old address as the club has done in the past.
They have had 2 years to sort it out. Leaving it to 2 weeks before when so much could go wrong and people going on holiday and not knowing if they have arrived is not is a bit bizarr and ill thought out.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, there’s no need to have this cycle of reissuing cards every 2 years.

I am in Scotland and ST card will go to Salisbury. I hope for a reprint type arrangement. Left my old ST at home too!RickyBobby wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 5:24 pmWhat if you are off on Holiday and won’t be back until the day before and find out the card hasn’t come? Re: New season ticket cards
Hi mate, just a thought to save you some hassle, could you not get a redirection set up by Royal Mail as I’m guessing that’s how they’re delivered?
I just moved and it’s been a godsend, can do a 3 month redirection for about £35 I think and we’ve had quite a few to the new address already so it works.
Hope this helps

No home friendly to test the cards either.

I'd get there 30 minutes early, I did last year and still missed the first 15 minutes trying to get my card sorted Ended up having to ask the steward to just let me in as it became a joke going back and forth.dougcollins wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 12:38 pmNo home friendly to test the cards either.

The reaction from the lady in the ticket office was 'there's nothing wrong with it' then 'have you been paying your direct debit?' By this point I really wasn't in the mood

Re: New season ticket cards
I know I could ring the Club but thought I would ask here first - what is the qualifying age for an old codger ticket (presumably 65) and does the month you turn old have a bearing in relation to this Season?
Re: New season ticket cards
probably my 65th was in May and so next season was automatically changed to an "old git card" ... If I remember my Brothers was January 2015 when he turned 65, and I don`t think it didn`t change until the following seasonCaptainKirk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 3:50 pmI know I could ring the Club but thought I would ask here first - )what is the qualifying age for an old codger ticket (presumably 65 and does the month you turn old have a bearing in relation to this Season?

Re: New season ticket cards
I think you have to turn 65 before the first game of the new season??? I renewed in early bird period, but did not hit 65 until early this month. My new ticket automatically appeared in my basket as an OAP one

You have to be 65 or older on 1st August to qualify as a senior citizen.Eloise Laws wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 4:32 pmI think you have to turn 65 before the first game of the new season??? Re: New season ticket cards
It is the 1st of August. However the season I turned 65 on the 2nd of August I rang the ticket office and said that as I would be 65 before the first match of the season then it would only be fair if I could have an OAP ticket and the ticket office agreed.

How much longer will the club keep offering a reduced price for a season ticket just because they reach 65 ?

Re: New season ticket cards
I think it flipped about quite a bit just after the time when my Mum turned 60, which was 30 years ago. Some bitter bloke in Brighton sued the council because they offered discounts for pensioners at state pension age - 60 for women, 65 for men. He said it was sex discrimination to offer all pensioners a discount, because men get theirs later, and the courts (illogical beings that they are) decided that was right - it's not sex discrimination to give women 5 years' extra pension, but it is sex discrimination to give them a discount sooner.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 10:10 pmIt used to be 60 but they changed it when I reached 59.
So all organisations had to equalise their rates, and I think Burnley went to 60 all round shortly followed by 65 all round, but allowed those who had already got a pensioner ticket at say 62 to carry on the discounted rate. (Which is why I think it was when my Mum was in her early sixties.)

Some clubs still use 60. Leeds last time we went and I think Huddersfield & Sheffield United last season.dsr wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 10:33 pmI think it flipped about quite a bit just after the time when my Mum turned 60, which was 30 years ago. One or two in our whatsapp group starting to panic about new season cards ... one has rung the club up and been assured they will be coming in the post in the next two weeks ... he said "its only 2 weeks to the start of the season" and was told "don't panic"

Only time there is any point in panicking is if everyone has there’s and yours hasn’t come or if it’s Friday morning on 11th August and nobody has them.
Until that point, it’s a wasted worry. But very typical of this forum.
