I wasn't expecting a signing announcement so early in the day - don't know much about him to be honest but it looks a potentially exciting signing

Interesting that on the club announcement he is quoted if I am reading it right that there has been dialogue with him during the last two months.

Certainly seems that he has been a priority, great that it has been kept so quiet until virtually at the end.

It’s very unusual isn’t it. Leads me to believe they’re making time for more announcements and want them spread out over the day. One at midday and one at 3pm?

Exactly the take that I took from that as well.

Shows even if us fans no nothing deals don't just happen in a week of the player being linked, even signings out of the blue take a couple of months to arrange.

Does this identify just how inaccurate some/most/all of the numerous ‘transfer rumours’ are?

More to do with our huge shortlist of targets I think. I think the Belgian reporter mentioned we have a pool of 50/60 players.

One thing that's interesting is that he only scored twice before Jan 22nd but ended the season having scored 26 goals notably twice against Nice, twice against Fiorentina (in two different matches) and twice against Romania. 24 goals in the last 35 games of a 58 game season! I'm not surprised we didn't get him in earlier, his last game was 1st of July.

He got 5 or 6 that pre season, to be fair to Juke his luck just deserted him in the season.

The same could be said about last summers signings, even Vinny himself. Just comes out in interviews later, that what we thought was a quick deal, had actually been going on for weeks.
And so it should, sometimes it best to keep your cards close to your chest.

Certainly looks an exciting prospect and amazing how quickly it all happened after the initial news broke. Looks like We can all go back to trusting Sacha again after his Verbruggen faux pas. Does make you think that a lot of the transfer noise is designed to throw our rivals off the scent because he looks much more a West Ham/Wolves type signing than “little ole Burnley”.

Interestingly if the figure of €18 mil is accurate surely that would be transfer record equaling or above in sterling, yet not mentioned! Clearly either the figures mentioned are inaccurate or our record had already been broken and will be announced soon on another transfer maybe

The PL was new to us then and the quality of most of the players we signed at that time was unlike that of now.
Juke was one of them and just didn’t have the strength or mobility to outwit defences. The chances he got he usually snatched at resulting in him getting little power in his efforts.
