Re: Free Nathan Tella!
Nelson Mandela recorded a congratulations message for my uni ceremony, so i'm best qualified to say he'd have thought this was a right laugh.
I await anyone with a closer connection to Big Nelson to correct me

Jesus what is happening to the world. It’s a bit of fun. People need to chill out a bit
Re: Free Nathan Tella!
There’s absolutely no way that this would be put out unless there’s a done deal. It would be beyond crass otherwise and that’s not how AP operates.

Re: Free Nathan Tella!
It's not a fun 'reveal' video we are talking about.
It is obviously going to **** off Southampton. Its not the way you negotiate a deal.
So the question is, does Southampton being ****** off with Pace and Burnley make it more or less likely that they do a deal?
And if it all comes down to money in the end - does it make it more or less likely that Southampton reach a compromise on a price?
Re: Free Nathan Tella!
Surely people are allowed to think it's a bit tin pot and cringeworthy? I don't see any getting "outraged" like some people are trying to claim!
Re: Free Nathan Tella!
I hope Alan Pace and his family know what they are doing.

It goes against everything we've seen from our transfer strategy, so many under the radar etc etc. It's so incredibly strange and if something hasn't been 100% agreed will do us a lot of damage.
Re: Free Nathan Tella!
I once met and shook hands with Nelson Mandela but I never met Nathan Tella. Does this elevate Nathan above Nelson. Ps his hands were amazingly soft ( for what that’s worth )

Re: Free Nathan Tella!
Are people seriously suggesting that a video on social media from the chairman’s daughter will make a club walk away for a multi million pound deal?
I think I’ve heard it all.

If you think that hard-headed successful businessmen make big financial decisions based on what some young lass posts on her social media accounts then I'd say you're worrying unnecessarily.

Re: Free Nathan Tella!
To be fair, its a bit more than a video on social media with a sorely ill-advised soundtrack. Pace's daughter has been contacting people on social media asking them to post '#freetella' content as part of a campaign to, in her words, "persuade Southampton to loosen their grip of him"
The chairman of our club then shared the video.
We'll see how well its received by a club who we need to do business with but I doubt many other clubs will be impressed.
Imagine if some club pulled this on one of our players.

Re: Free Nathan Tella!
Lots of neutrals I know have gotten wind of this and think it’s incredibly cringe and a bit distasteful.
Won’t be long till the Mail picks it up and Talk Shite -
Thinking about it logically it might seem harmless but in no way does it positively add to the BFC ‘brand’ but could be seen to take away from it.
It’s really cringe and disrespectful - be a different story if there wasn’t an obvious link with the club and it was just a random fan that had made it.

Re: Free Nathan Tella!
I personally don't think it's in great taste to use a song written to encourage the release of Nelson Mandela from prison in this context, and I'd say it was ill-advised for representatives of the club to post it on their socials.

And obviously the reaction would have been totally different had the clip been posted by a fan rather than the chairman.

It’s really annoying when you try and have an honest opinion about something and people deliberately misrepresent your view/argument because we dared to criticise people linked with the club.forzagranata wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 5:23 pmWhat meltdown?
