A six and a half foot goalkeeper NOT catching a lofted ball in the box SHOULD be getting plenty of attention, regardless of his name.
I did mention this about his catching the ball before we signed him

On the link that Leisure posted, they've just written: "Vincent Kompany and co open the Premier League in three weeks with a home game against Manchester City but still have a lot of work to do if they don't want to make a fool of themselves against the Champions League winner."

We’ve been pretty poor second half. Twine done well but that’s about it. Townsend been garbage.

Watching on the Insta stream - Burnley fans singing "Weghorst is a ******" and loudly booing him being subbed on.

Everyone knows I didn't rate him - but Jesus Christ. Idiots.

And the latest on the text link: "Vincent Kompany makes another substitution. Lyle Foster leaves the field, he is replaced by Wout Weghorst. The Dutchman was loaned out to Manchester United last season but could not break any pots at Old Trafford."

tbf Xhaka practically went to war with the Arsenal fans but managed to turn it around and they loved him last season. No reason Wout can't do the same. Needs to start playing well. His effort on the field has never been doubted. His ability is what concerns.

That's a lovely idiom, and probably no stranger than our 'pulling up trees'. What would pulling up a tree even look like? Are we talking a fern, an oak, a cherry blossom? Leaving trees in the ground is usually ecologically sound.

2-0 Genk

Only a friendly but if we’re being honest we’ve been very easily second best, certainly 2nd half anyway (only half I’ve watched). Not created anything and Genk have got in behind quite a few times.

We were poor last pre-season.
I believe they get worked very hard in training and are not properly "match-conditioned".

Needs to be remembered that this is not about a result or a team performance, it's about honing in on distances, passing shapes, partnerships, timing of runs and presses whatnot, tactical stuff, and of course, fitness.

All that to say, the result only matters if we win.

I always think having a few stinkers in preseason is largely a good thing as there's no hiding place for the short-comings in the squad.

VK and CB will be all over whatever is lacking, even it's only fitness and sharpness.

I suspect we still need some reinforcements though, particularly on the left and centre mid.

Food for thought for Vinnie and back room staff. Thats what friendlies, particularly the early ones are designed to provide the manager

I've always said when I've been to friendlies and reported on them, if we win and play well then enthuse about it, if we lose then just report that it's all about fitness and the result and performance don't really matter. it's the latter here.

i am ambivolant about it but so many are against him, it must feel very unpleasant.

We refuse to pay what I consider to be a fair asking price for Tella and are left with cheaper that cheap options such as a spent Townsend and the lumbering Weghorst. I struggle to be optimistic.

We as supporters st times look to deeply into these games,it's about fitness without pulling muscles it's about effort with damaging knees as you play to your fitness level FFS the players don't know each other yet.

What's the asking price and how were you able to obtain this information?
