Belgian GP
Wet... Red flag. Racing director doing their best to murder another driver this weekend.
Gonna be a bit dryer on Sunday at least but I think Qually and the sprint tomorrow might be a washout

Re: Belgian GP
Sunday looks dry all day, but qualifying and the sprint could be skewed by the wet weather.
This could give us an unusual and therefore really entertaining grid and first few laps.

Could be a good weekend for Williams if things go their way
Very fast car on the straight. I reckon Albon gonna get some good points

Re: Belgian GP
Got shafted at Red Bull imo, a very good driver doing some great things in that Williams.

Re: Belgian GP
How was the red flag the race directors fault? Sargent aquaplaned and had a low speed shunt on inters. If anything you have to blame Williams for not being on full wets. Racing in the rain is part of motorsport. It isn‘t cricket where we have to pack up and go home when it starts spitting. Rain separates the good drivers from the great drivers.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 1:03 pmWet... Red flag. Racing director doing their best to murder another driver this weekend.

F3 qually delayed by 5 mins
Hopefully no standing water because despite whatever shite is spouted by people who don't have a clue - it doesn't matter how good a driver you are when you literally have no control of the car.
Should be a good session.

Peroni to sponsor Ferrari from Aston Martin next season.
Sainz is sponsored by Estrella Galicia or whatever it's called so could be a sign he's off.

Re: Belgian GP
Raining again for F2 qually. They literally got 1 lap in - was a race against time before the rain came down.
Bearman on pole.
F1 qually is due to start in 45 mins - might not go ahead cos it looks VERY wet right now.

Who do they get to replace him though, I think he's stronger than Leclerc personally.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 2:36 pmPeroni to sponsor Ferrari from Aston Martin next season.

Re: Belgian GP
I've had that thought but clearly they have no room for him.
No idea who would replace him - I guess at an outside push they could go for leclerc the second or maybe even Bearman. Maybe even Hulk?
No idea tbh!

Re: Belgian GP
Verstappen takes pole by 0.820 of a second.
Outstanding lap.
Great lap by Hamilton too but we'll have to see how their long run goes on Sunday.
Shame from the McLaren's - bad third sector from both cars. Piastri was looking good for pole but ultimately 6th

Dont forget the sprint race at 16.05
Verstappen on pole but Piastri one hundred behind him and Sainz 2 hundreths. Very close top 3. Should be a great sprint.

Dryish during the shoot out but thundery showers forecast for the race.
Sunday's weather looking like a dry race start but changing to rain part way through.

Delayed start to the sprint race and begins the safety car. Was looking forward to seeing Piastri challenge Verstappen

Re: Belgian GP
So glad I rushed back home to this...
Just kidding!
Disappointed it's gonna be a SC start because this should be more than dry enough for a standing start in 10 mins.
Hopefully it's in on the first lap

Surprised people are still watching F1. Not much intrigue in the sport at the moment that I can find. Although I'm not a massive fan of Horner or Verstappen so it could be sour grapes.

Re: Belgian GP
They need 2 drivers at Red Bull in the 2nd car.
They can bring Perez out for the street circuits but they really need a decent circuit driver.
Verstappen has done half a second a lap over him so far and that includes starting in 6th

Re: Belgian GP
12 race wins in a row for Max… this one done from 5th to 1st and still +25 seconds… the most dominant car to ever exist in F1?
Re: Belgian GP
Think it's Red Bull that has 12 in a row, not just Verstappen. He started 6th on the grid
Re: Belgian GP
Another Max domination. Currently untouchable.

Managed to get on Martin's "fan walk" today with my Burnley top on.
Had a private tour around the McLaren garage and spoke with Lando, saw Yuki and Max in the paddock and apart from getting sodden in the rain at times a great weekend.

Re: Belgian GP
Tis the most boring season of F1 that I can ever remember. Ironic that attempts to make the racing closer, have had exactly the opposite effect
If it carries on like this, then the only people who will care will be those "influencers" sat in Jacuzzis on fake Miami beaches. And all they will care about is how they look on TV
It really is losing its soul

I have a few from the McLaren garage and pit lane, I have tried putting them on over the weekend but it keeps saying the image files are invalid and can't be uploaded.

Yes it has been a fantastic weekend, my first attendance at a F1 weekend couldn't have asked for more, accept maybe a McLaren win but oh well.
