Best drinking hole before the game
First post I’ve done, anyone have any preferences for a pre match drink, I usually just go to the turf pub under the culvert, I enjoy the crack, am a lager drinker so don’t mind the beer, but they have a tendency to just put 2 staff on when there’s 30-40 people waiting to be served…. Very annoying….

Should be some sort of a system where you can serve yourself from chilled vending machines on biometrics to get around underage people potentially buying.

Bank Parade... 3 good pre match pop up bars up there, cheap and good beer. Not sure about real ale up there but, good craic certainly after train from Accy to Burnley Central.
Re: Best drinking hole before the game
I'm sure that they're permanent bars, rather than pop up, but a good shout nonetheless

What's the local brewery in or around Burnley these days.
Last one I remember was Massey's Burnley Ales back in the 60s!

Moorhouses and Reedly Hallows are local breweries round here. Not sure if the Worsthorne brewery is still goingIt Is What It Is wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 12:44 pmWhat's the local brewery in or around Burnley these days.

Burnley centre is pretty cr@p TBH for decent pubs and beer. I usually have a beer or two in Manchester before I get the train to Burnley.
As another poster said the Bridge has good beer but is rammed inside on match days. I know Wetherspoons sometimes gets slated but they probably have best cask beer selection in town, often including local brewers beer. So Boot Inn it is for me.

Re: Best drinking hole before the game
Bank Parade is definitely a good option these days. The Bridge is always excellent, The Circ has great real ale, but is a bit small, especially if everybody is inside due to rubbish weather and The Loom has good ale plus good food if you want it, but bar service in there can be an issue and at times I've walked out as the wait is interminable.
Re: Best drinking hole before the game
Miners is always busy but I find getting served isn't too bad. Don't mind the Oxford now it's been smartened up a bit either, never too busy.

Give Burnley a miss and give Casked and The Hop in Rawtenstall a go, two really great watering holes with a great selection of beers.

Don't rule out Bootleggers. Decent pint of Directors.
New Brewm - Full range of Reedley Hallows beers at £2.50 a pint on matchdays. What's not to like?
