The end of 'Don't Look Now' at the pictures in the 70's had the whole cinema too scared to leave.

Any, and every, scene in Ned Kelly that has Mick Jagger in it.

Given that Jagger was the star of this movie that probably tells you what a terrible film this was - it just reeked of a vanity project where a very famous man thinks he can do anything.

Jagger was also in another awful movie called Free Jack sometime in the late 80s I think? This tells me he should've stuck to the day job i.e.

1) Best frontman for a band ever (Mercury and Daltrey aside can't think of one)
2) Writing some great songs
3) Pretty good singer

Now I've heard 'Performance' was a very good film - in all my years I've never actually got around to seeing it - given that the depth of knowledge on this forum is very deep can anyone please tell me - is 'Performance' a good movie or not?

The botched execution in Green Mile is absolutely horrendous. Percy, you little scamp.

Very much a film of its time, but I'd say Performance is worth a watch.

Though I'm biased as I'd say any Nick Roeg film is worth watching.

Probably helps if you're on drugs while you watch it.

For me, pretty much the entire second half of ‘Threads’.

Or the reference to the Katyn Massacre in ‘Come and See’.

In the very very old B&W B movie Tarantula. A giant Tarantula hovering above a poor cow in a field about to eat it. Was about thirteen when I watched it and scared the hell out of me.

Another horrific scene was in the Tudors when the Yorkshire rebel John Constable was tortured and had a red hot poker shoved up his rear end. I can remember thinking at the time that I couldn't think of anything more painful.

Most horror stuff doesn't bother me so a bit of a left field choice for me is Million Dollar Baby.

I think its possibly because the twist took me by such surprise but the following scenes where she is in the hospital and when her family visit I find very hard to watch.

The film terrifier where woman is hung up by
her feet with legs apart and sawn completely
in half by a madman dressed as a clown.

Dustin Hoffman getting his 2 front teeth drilled in Marathon Man was pretty horrific especially if you hate going to the dentist 😬

Texas Chainsaw Massacre when Leatherface rubs salt (I think) into the amputated leg stump of the guy who he's hanged in the basement.

A Serbian Film

The final scene is honestly vile. Watched a lot of films over the years and never seen anything like it. Have never watched it again and never will.
Supposed to be one of the most disturbing films isn't it? I haven't had the pleasure yet

Quite a few scenes out of Schindler’s List.

Seen it once and that was enough. Feel a bit guilty about that mind, everyone should be made to watch it at least once. Although I note it was on again last night.

For me it was that bad that it made me feel like I’d watched something illegal at the end of it. Never watched it again. I had the DVD and gave it to my friend and she loved it, yet her husband messaged me around a year later telling me how she’d made him watch it and how vile it was

It's not scary nor gory, but the scene in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves where they have supposedly washed ashore and then looking at Nottingham from f***ing Hadrians Wall really gets my goat

There was a John Wayne movie made in the 70's where he played a cop who came over to London at some point, and there was a dodgy car chase scene ... I think it was called "Brannigan" 🤔 if memory serves.

A London born friend of Mum and Dads was staying with us and it was on the TV ... Roy was laughing like a drain because whoever was responsible for continuity got it completely messed up ... one minute going south over Tower Bridge, next scene north of the river closely followed by somewhere south of the river again 🤣

But that tree by Hadrians wall is regularly visited by film buffs ... after all they came ashore in the morning in sussex and a few hours later were at Crag Lough in Northumberland 🤣🤣🤣
