Woodgrove Car Park

Post by DefourFiveSix » Tue Aug 01, 2023 5:41 pm

Hi Clarets, I'm over from abroad for the City game and need a car park for the match. Last time I was over, we street parked and the car got broken into so after something a bit more secure this time.
Woodgrove in Towneley Park is one of the recommendations on the official site - is that normally an option for evening games? I saw somewhere it closed at 10pm so wasn't sure.
Recommendations/advice appreciated. UTC

Park in the town centre and walk to the ground, 5-10 minute walk. Lots of spaces as the day 40 minute spots are free after 6pm and will be safer there too.
Think some of the open air car parks around town are free after 6pm too but double check before you park

* Free after 9pm and all day Sundays and Bank Holidays.

King Street car park, near courts, is cheap and convenient, covered by CCTV too.

If you are there early, 2 hours before kick off, there are spaces at Woodgrove that are outside of the barrier. Just pat and display as normal.

Best car park for a decent getaway too up to Gannow top for motorway network.

Park at the back of St Mary’s church - it’s across the Rd from the turf so good if it’s pouring it down - think it’s £5 and never too bad to get away from if you take the route out down Todmorden Rd instead of towards Turf Moor

Yes, Burnley council car parks are free after 9pm, it used to be 6pm until our first Premier League season.
Please bear in mind his initial post was looking for somewhere 'secure' hence my suggestion as an alternative to street parking.
