Why do you have such low hopes for Colne?

I'd not be bothered in the slightest if they disappeared in to the lower leagues and the fans felt the pain, in fact I'd love it

He was good, then Jack Cork came on, and then he wasn'tSteve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 10:21 amAfter the reviews from our game about him I was honestly expecting him to go for £50 million plus!!!! Ran the show!!!
Clearly going to be a good player, but could also not make it as well
Its very revealing that he's still there, which does rather suggest that he's not as good as Rovers think he is

I want them to experience their own version of 'The Orient Game'.
And lose.

Re: Those lot down the road…
I worked over there when the 'staying down 4 ever' plane flew over. We were struggling to get out of D4, while they were heading for the EPL. The stick I and my Burnley co-workers got was OTT, but fair enough, because I'd have done the same. At the time though, I never thought the boot would one day be on the other foot. I take great glee in their fall from grace.

Trellebotg, over 2 legs, was their Orient game.
And what fun we had.

Re: Those lot down the road…
If they start to struggle even more financially we always have in our back pocket that they turned down circa 200k in revenue just out of spite and pettiness
Re: Those lot down the road…
I don't want them to go bust.
Without a main rival, we will probably end up trying to start weird little rivalries with anyone who express interest in one of our players. Like Coventry fans do

I doubt many want them to go bust, most of us just want them to be playing away at Rochdale in the non-League

The danger of being knocked out of a European competition against the danger of ceasing to exist? Not even close.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 12:00 pmTrellebotg, over 2 legs, was their Orient game.

I know I’m very much in a minority, but I find all this anti-Blackburn vitriol a bit boring. And when it
comes to swearing maniacally at an inanimate object - well…
My support for Burnley, over the last 58 years or so, is a positive experience.
There is no much negativity and vileness in today’s world. Why choose to add to it?

But we're not comparing this to vileness in the World eg Russia / Ukraine or other awful events.
We're talking about a football rivalry like there is between towns and cities all over the planet.
And it's our time to rub their noses in it and shut the shadsworth gurning simpletons up. Hopefully for the foreseeable future.

MiddleagedClaret, I'm assuming you may be referring to my post. As a young teenager, in the early 60s after a game against them, I was walking alone up Brunshaw Rd from the Cricket field end, when I got set upon by around 6 Bstd fans and got knocked to the ground and given a good kicking. I'd not spoken to anyone, or done anything to provoke anyone. Will you have any sympathy for me really hating them, I doubt it.
The sooner they're defunct, the better for me.

It's harmless rivalry-banter for 99.9% of supporters. Those who take it a step further are bellends and if it wasn't this, it would be something else.Middle-agedClaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 4:56 pmI know I’m very much in a minority, but I find all this anti-Blackburn vitriol a bit boring. They were waiting for their % from the Raya sale to buy players but it's only a £3m loan with a £27m option to buy next season . They have been royally stitched up.

I have no doubt there will be some of their goons thinking due to their elevated status in the relevance table that Arsenal & Brentford have done this just to spite poor blackburn
