Re: Aaron Ramsdale piece
fantastic read, thanks for that
Re: Aaron Ramsdale piece
That's a fantastic read. I've always thought he "had something about him" but he's gone even higher in my estimation reading that.

Re: Aaron Ramsdale piece
What an inspiring read that is - just someone being open and honest, so refreshing.

He’s absolutely right when he said he looked into the stands at WBA away on a Wednesday night and thought “these are the real fans”.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 12:25 pm"you had a few idiots on the Internet chatting ****. Who cares? The real supporters have your back"

It’s far too easy for anyone now to act like a fan, go on Twitter and put MUFC in your bio and change your picture to Bruno Fernandes and suddenly you’re a Man United fan.
I’ll never respect Glory seeker fans and their football opinion deep down, I think it’s truly wrong we have people born and raised in Burnley whilst claiming to support other clubs.
I think it goes against everything football is, being proud of where you’re from and the tribalism aspect.

Unfortunately, the absolute weapons that NEED to read stuff like this, can't... and we've got our fair share of those.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 12:25 pm"you had a few idiots on the Internet chatting ****. Who cares? The real supporters have your back"

Always comes across as decent does Ramsdale when he speaks.

An excellent piece. He seems like a sound, well-grounded lad.

Always loved Aaron and that gives a great insight, great read and even better sentiment.

Where do non local Burnley fans like what I is fit in your scheme of things?KRBFC wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 2:53 pmHe’s absolutely right when he said he looked into the stands at WBA away on a Wednesday night and thought “these are the real fans”.

I could be looked at as a glory hunter as Burnley came to my attention as a result of being on TV in the 1962 Cup Final?

Re: Aaron Ramsdale piece
Might be worth giving him a welcome when he comes to the Turf in February? After all, ALL England goalkeepers used to get welcomed as they walked to the nets. Trouble is, his article will probably have been forgotten by then.
Terrific Rammy.

Re: Aaron Ramsdale piece
I couldn’t be looked upon as a glory hunter - a crap finder if anything - having started around 82/3.
I wouldn’t change it for the world but I do think that I missed out to a degree by not supporting a local team (even though it’s only 22 miles from my house to Turf Moor).
The camaraderie that develops in your younger years, by going to matches with mates who all support the same team, is something that I wish I’d had. As it was, I didn’t know of another Burnley fan until I went to upper school.
Saying all of that, going to the football with my Dad and when he ‘came of age’ my Brother, was and continues to be time that I can’t put a value on. Last season being another set of great memories that I’ll cherish for the rest of my days.
It is a little different being an outsider supporting a club but I can assure anyone that whilst I may not be from Burnley, I’m as passionate about the club as a lifelong fan who can see Turf Moor from their front door.
Re: Aaron Ramsdale piece
I was speaking more about the Man United/Liverpool fans born and raised in a town like Burnley. I don't think any Burnley fan can be considered a glory seeker and I don't consider non local BFC fans any different to those born local.

Good read from someone who has a lot of life’s priorities in the right order. Cant help but warm to his honesty and outlook on life at such a young age
