I'm no goalkeeping authority, but It certainly looks like Muric has had a clear edge in pre-season.

Is it beyond the bounds of credibility that Muric may currently be in the shop window? The lad from Orient (?) looks a bit too useful to be just making the tea.

He looked the better of the two in pre-season. Trafford has time on his side and needs to get to grips with how VK will want him to operate. He doesn't need to be rushed into the first team. Muric was shaky at the start of last season but was superb after the World Cup which shows it takes time to bed in. There's certainly no need to panic if Trafford doesn't start.

It has to be Muric. Last season apart from the odd error, (which every keeper has, no matter how good they are) he was immense. Even in pre season, he’s looked good.

I honestly don’t think there’s many keepers in World Football that have the ability with the ball that Muric does.

It’s up there in Allison/Ederson levels for me - from watching Traffords highlights and views from Bolton fans as well as his performances in our preseason he looks a good way off Muric’s footballing ability (which is pivotal to how we play) but does look to be a promising shot stopper.

Bolton fans have made comment that he’s a bit unsure with the high ball and we all know how much Burnley fans get on keepers that flap at it - he even did this in his pre season outing against Genk.

Far too early for me to start a youngster at goalkeeper, it’s absolutely Muric’s shirt to lose.

Thought Trafford wasn't too bad last night, and obviously early days for the lad but i don't see him being a commanding presence in the 6 yard box that Muric often was last term. Thought Muric was really good towards the end of the season.

Trafford looks pretty good as well though, so it's a nice problem to have.

I think it's time to try Muric and see how it goes. Trafford had a number of close calls again last night and he just isn't quick enough with his feet for me. Absolutely a top shot stopper, but it's time to try something different because we are well into the season now and are struggling, especially at set pieces and I know Muric had serious weaknesses in coming for catches towards the start of last season, but he definitely got better and better and his height and reach absolutely HAS to give him some presence.

Just give it a go because as it stands we need to look for ways to win. Swallow your pride VK and give him a go for a few games, let's see how he gets on.

Muric if only to give Trafford a break. Watching Trafford flap at every cross is becoming miserable. Muric wasn’t much better when he started but improved massively in the second half of the season.

Personally I would like to see Tom Heaton back at Burnley at 37 he is capable and still seems to be doing well.

Reminds me of the Hart Heaton debate and how things changed after Heaton came back and started bossing the defence..
Trafford isn’t up to PL standard - I hope he is soon or we’ve blown an arm and a couple of legs on him that we won’t get back.
His passing is often scary and reckless, he isn’t rotected at corners and flaps too much.
I found Muric scary too, but we need a few changes soon!!

Must be harder for managers to drop keepers at a guess. We saw how reluctant Dyche was to drop Hart when it was clearly long overdue to most outside observers
