Re: Clarets v City match thread
Bloody hell, that's a decent bench. When was the last time we had one that deep?
Re: Clarets v City match thread
Had no idea what team we'd put out and I'm still surprised!
Re: Clarets v City match thread
Some rise for Koleosho
Re: Clarets v City match thread
Only real surprise for me is Vitinho instead of Zaroury.

Re: Clarets v City match thread
Surprising team. Think it will be 4231 still with Al dahkil left back and Vitinho wide left giving him some support.
Re: Clarets v City match thread
Looking forward to watching Koleosho and Amdouni again

Re: Clarets v City match thread
After being linked with about 400 wingers over the summer I did not expect Vitinho to be in the starting line up for this game.

Re: Clarets v City match thread
How much of a vote of confidence in Koleosho to be on with all that lot on the bench behind him. Very exciting

Hopefully I'll feel as elated tonight like I was after last season's opener against Huddersfield - UTC !

5 at the back, leaves Cullen and Berge with a shed load of work
Re: Clarets v City match thread
First game of last season, Kompany sprung a surprise with a winger no-one expected to be in the starting line up.

Re: Clarets v City match thread
I suspect that will be a fluid 3 at the back with Roberts and Vitinho as attacking wing backs/wide defensive midfield. Kompany likes to see 2 groups of 5 for the most part with an extra player being released to the other bank when we need to try and overload.

Scott twine is warming up pre match, is team sheet wrong?

Surprised Muric is not in goal after his performance against Benfica
So good to see CuLlen back thought he might be injured

Re: Clarets v City match thread
So the pre-match interviews are very different
Pace and The Watts have all been interviewed at the Sky table, discussing stuff like the documentary, the Watts on why they invested in Burnley etc
Carragher and Neville have been in the Royal Dyche too
Our owners are very much willing to be in the spotlight when required and I think it’s very good

Ohh the new hospitality in the Jimmy Mac struggling. Walked in 6 order machines. 4 down with printer issues. You need the ticket to collect your order...

Not sure about Muric being dropped for first game. Think he earned the right to start the first game.

Re: Clarets v City match thread
Don't like the high line against Haaland
Re: Clarets v City match thread
We have some pace in the back line so they might be able to catch him.
Re: Clarets v City match thread
Koleo and Foster other side but yeah, 5 at back, first time under Vinnyclaretandy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 8:03 pmIt looks like

How in gods name can one of them not have body contact with him.
He didn’t even need to work for that.
