Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
They are more cunning than that!
They swap you to a QR code, so you turn up and think you can still get in...but it won't scan!
Cruel punishment.

I am in a mixed race marriage...colour does not come into it ...we have our moments and good times too..
Just take people as you find them ...do not worry what they are..just take them ad you find them
But why anyone should take a knee is pointless and stupid as is booing...it just makes an issue of something that is not there very often like it was especially in the 70s
Let's jus watch a football match ...

A bloke on the now-deleted thread on booing at the kneeling (btw there's a trend on here where anti-racism threads are dragged into the gutter by racist lunatics, probably in the hope the thread gets deleted by the mods so as to conceal the censure as though the criticism never happened, allowing the racists their blissful peace on here), this bloke says he has a mix-race daughter who got called the n-word twice while walking home from working catering at the Turf last night, buy aye, you keep on pretending that because you believe it's something that happens 'not very often' that it's not worth pushing back on by whichever means possible. You can 100% guarantee that the knucklescrapers who did that are the very same kind of people who would say 'I'm not racist, I abhor racism, I just don't support BLM or politics in football blah blah blah'wbfc wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 6:25 pmI am in a mixed race marriage...colour does not come into it ...we have our moments and good times too..

I haven’t seen MOTD yet, but why should an incident like this be ignored? The more these idiotic acts are called out the quicker they will be stamped out.

It's been dealt with internally so it's far from being ignored, showing it on MOTD makes no odds either way.
Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
Not sure you should show it or not,
but When Lowton was hit by a bottle at Leeds it was never shown. Also if they do show it, then you should mention the swift action the club has taken.

Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
Yes, I don't agree with taking the knee - meaningless tokenism. I bet many players don't like it. BUT I would never boo because it's a blunt instrument and the sentiment behind the boo is easily misunderstood. Just keep quiet. You don't have to clap, you don't have to boo. We're on a world stage and it's embarrassing.clive40golf wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 11:59 pmIf you can’t see that booing whilst our players take the knee, does not come across as racially motivated towards the peoples skin colour, by the rest of the world, then it’s you that are the ignorant one my friend. All this nonsense about it’s against a political ideology of BLM is totally lost on people around the world who tuned into watch our game. Actions like this, plus trying to assault other team’s players, does nothing but hurt our club and the many decent fans we have.
If you don’t agree with it , don’t clap, just keep your mouth shut for 1 minute and let it finish, then watch the match. I’m sure there was some fans who didn’t agree with taking the knee, but they just did the grown up thing.

Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
The very thing you are asserting people do with threads "dragged into the gutter" you are doing it yourself the exact same thing, this thread is supposed to be about a zombie lobbing an object at a man city player, 2 threads have already been deleted regarding the knee & seemingly you are aiming for the 3, evidentially & factually repeating something which isn't even related to the thread & then accusing people with differing opinions of enabling that action.Spiral wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 6:42 pmA bloke on the now-deleted thread on booing at the kneeling (btw there's a trend on here where anti-racism threads are dragged into the gutter by racist lunatics, probably in the hope the thread gets deleted by the mods so as to conceal the censure as though the criticism never happened, allowing the racists their blissful peace on here), this bloke says he has a mix-race daughter who got called the n-word twice while walking home from working catering at the Turf last night, buy aye, you keep on pretending that because you believe it's something that happens 'not very often' that it's not worth pushing back on by whichever means possible. Because at the last count, there were about 700 zombie seats in the ground. These are season ticket holders seats who have not been seen for at least 2 seasons. I wondered if banned fans contributed to this number.

What? Of course they should show it. How many other games this weekend did a Neanderthal throw something at a player who was lying on the ground? They were right to call it out and as Burnley fans we should be thoroughly embarrassed.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 12:06 amIt's been dealt with internally so it's far from being ignored, showing it on MOTD makes no odds either way.

Do show it then but like the other poster rightly said (after me) also include the message the club aren't allowing that kind of behaviour & are taking action, let's be fair about things.roperclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 9:50 pmWhat? Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
The message has been put out loud and clear that the club and, for that matter, most of the fans(with some apparent exceptions on here) hate this kind of idiotic action and the person behind it.
Having been seen worldwide, the damage done to our reputation will be considerable which is a crying shame considering the efforts of the new owners and the fabulous publicity we've had this year.
This and the racist crap should not be tolerated under any circumstances. If showing it helps people like you realise it cannot continue to happen, I guess the embarrassment will be worth it.

The other part seems to be well & truly debatable if it is a racist act, but regarding the zombie lobbing a object I've yet to see or hear about 1 person agreeing with it & most people seemingly so want strong decisive action taken to hopefully prevent further occurrences.

Have a brilliant season, win the league, be talked about well by everyone in the game, have a documentary made on the club (which most enjoyed) start the new season and with an hour have "fans" show just how dumb some of ours are,

Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
The incidents on Friday do nothing but damage the reputation of the club but we can't be surprised. We have a minority of supporters who simply can't fathom that booing the "taking of the knee" isn't acceptable. It's racism masquerading as some sort of Daily Mail type political stance. To quote Stewart Lee, "it wasn't just racists who voted to leave the EU...!" Things have always been this way though.
I recall a game away at Shrewsbury some 20+ years ago. Burnley "legend" (and I use that term loosely) Rocky thought it was ok to keep calling the black Shrewsbury players "f***ing black b@st@rds" all afternoon. When questioned on how he felt about our black players he responded "they're ok cos they're ours!". That's the level of intelligence we're dealing with. By this logic Nathan Tella was a hero last season but nothing more than a "black b@st@rd" this season. It's abhorrent and has no place in society, never mind the Turf.

All fans have idiots and the uneducated, Chelsea announced fans arrested and removed from ground for Hillsborough chants. 99.9% would be rightly disgusted, and the majority at those clubs get the publicity, at Burnley 99.9% are embarrassed/disgusted/annoyed by the behaviour witnessed but the media and some of our fans are obsessed with focusing on the tiny minority.

Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
Disgraceful incidents which brings unwanted attention and shame on BFC and the town.
I always hope that the successful image of the club will have a positive impact on investment in the town in the shape of jobs for our people and particularly our younger ones. Publicity of this nature spreads far and wide and has an adverse effect.
This may also affect the prospect of footballing talent deciding whether they want to come to Burnley (remember Peter Crouch’s missus effectively calling off his transfer to the Clarets after the so called Burnley riots).
We have so many positive things happening at the club and hope for the future for many of our supporters. Why do so many good people have to put up with behaviour like this.
I’ve often had drinks before matches but never had the urge to throw anything at a football venue. Similarly with invading the pitch.
Hope these people are punished and called out by their fellow townspeople.

Re: To the prick who chucked the lighter
And this is the problem. We are a small town and it means that many have a small town mentality. Those booing need to open their eyes and look at the bigger picture. Burnley is on the global stage. We have an unbelievable opportunity to change perception this season. Under Dyche we were just "Brexit FC" but we have the management and the playing style to change the narrative. I hope our supporters don't continue to drag us down.

The thing is a minority fans are more upset by the media coverage, than by the actions of the prick that caused it. I would think that is a problem in itself.
