Keys just posts things for a reaction these days. And he’s bezzies with Dyche after he was on their show between jobs. Replies to that tweet are full of neutrals calling him an idiot. It’s just the way of the world now - the TalkSportification of football discussion on social media.

This is the same guy who had an affair with his daughters friend when his wife was having treatment for cancer. Managed to force her to publicly deny it to try save his reputation and later married said woman.
The same guy that was sacked for making sexist remarks on TV.
The only struggle going on here is Richard Keys and honesty.

It's certainly not as experienced as the team that was relegated, but technically and squad strength wise, we are ina much better position right now and still seem to be strengthening further.

Dyche believed his pragmatic style gave us the best chance of staying up and VK is a lot more open minded. We’ll find out either way, but anyone saying we’ll categorically stay up or down is talking nonsense.

We had a team with Pope, Mee, Tarkowski, McNeil, Weghorst and Collins when we were relegated.
He's not heard of any of our players or our five debutantes getting stuffed by the English and European Champions - so it's going to be a long, hard season, apparently
Expert insight after an hour and a half of football.

As I’m over in Tenerife at the mo and saw the game on the Arab channel I had the misfortune to have to watch Keys and Gray in action. Keys in particular just come across as an arrogant gobshite, absolutely full of his own BS. When you hear of his back story it’s easy to form a very negative opinion of an obnoxious individual.

You have to worry about people who search for the opinion of an odious vile turd like Richard Keys.
I imagine most people know more about being a decent person than Keys, takes a certain kind of person who is told by their wife she has cancer that the first thought is I fancy my daughters mate.

Re: Richard Keys
Never watched and know nothing about Richard Keys so he might be an awful person - who knows. On the other hand, I've read quite a bit by one or two who post on here to have a more definite opinion.
Anyway Keys was interested enough to comment, which is more than can be said for some of the other pundits. This is what he said and I think 6 months later many are beginning to say the same whether you think it fair or otherwise:
Richard Keys has accused Vincent Kompany of "taking liberties" at Burnley, claiming the former Manchester City captain views the club as a "vanity project".
Kompany was appointed Burnley boss last year following their relegation to the Championship and immediately guided them to promotion, with the Clarets winning the league. However, they have struggled on their return to the Premier League so far.
They have picked up just the one point from their first five fixtures, a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, and have suffered defeats at the hands of Manchester City, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United. Those four games were always going to be difficult tasks for Burnley given those clubs all finished in the top eight last season and things will not get any easier for Kompany's side next weekend when they take on Champions League outfit Newcastle.
However, beIN Sports presenter Keys has hit out at Kompany for trying to play "tippy tappy" football. Keys believes Burnley should have "got into" United in their recent 1-0 defeat at Turf Moor, claiming Erik ten Hag's side were "there for the taking" and "s******* themselves" after their 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Richard Keys reignites feud with Jamie Carragher after 'sad and desperate' jibe
"They're simply not good enough to tippy tappy about against seriously better opposition," Keys wrote in his latest blog. "I know they tore up the C'ship playing that way. So what? That's a totally different league.
"The three promoted clubs won 78 games between them last season. They haven't got one so far in the PL. United were there for the taking. They were s******* themselves after the defeat in Munich - their latest set-back after a terrible start.
"Burnley should've got into them - dropped some bombs on Onana for 10/15 minutes and earned the right to play a bit if that's what they wanted to do." Instead, Keys has claimed Kompany is simply trying to "raise his reputation" before jumping ship to another club.

It’s typical from certain people on here. If they see something they don’t like they attack the source in a futile attempt to discredit it. Anyway, keys regardless what you think of him as a person is a very experienced pundit/presenter in the footballing world and does know what he is talking about, to think any different is a non starter.
His criticism of js this season is pretty accurate and fair.
Re: Richard Keys
Keys being called all sorts but he had it to a tee all the way back in August when the gullible side of the fan base were using the defence of 120 sessions then it'll click, then that went and they know use 'your not a supporter, take your support elsewhere, support the young boy, you've got an agenda'
Re: Richard Keys
Why do we rubbish anyone in the media who is critical of our team?
Anyone would think we were pushing for a European place.
How can anyone take offence about him saying what everyone apart from a few myopic clowns on here think?

No one has any glee from seeing us fail, infact the complete opposite.
However refusing to accept any criticism no matter how little or constructive it is, is flat out delusional.
Nothing can improve without at first admitting and accepting the problems.

Re: Richard Keys
Knows his stuff does Richard Keys he had it bang on and anyone who couldn’t see it must be radio rental. We are a far worse team than the one relegated two seasons ago. With very few saleable assets (Berge being the exception)and a team that has no identity. We are in a worse position than last time, we have spent around 100 million of the dry powder store on not up to standard players. The management failed to identify the areas we needed to strengthen ie fullbacks, centre mid and striker and bought in several wingers of which we already had four or five (which I hasten to add never got a chance to prove their worth), a keeper who will hopefully become a good one for 19 million. Let’s hope we see the talent come to the fore next season in the championship and if promoted learn from our glaring errors regarding recruitment and bring in solid pros that we know can do a job in the prem to help nurture and develop the young players in the squad. UTC
Re: Richard Keys
Don’t get any glee from it whatsoever. I actually really like the Championship.
It’s called frustration. When our manager who we all lauded last season wastes, yes wastes the sum of over £100 million on below par unproven players and we are equally as bad and rock bottom with Sheff United, then some sort of criticism might be warranted.
Don’t you think so?

If its that those bought have not been as good as expected this season, then most would agree with you
However if you mean he's wasted £100 million never to be seen again then that would be wrong, because at some stage that 100 million will be recouped, or increased.

It’s not like buying Rolex watches where they usually appreciate in value because they are quality timepieces.
These are poor standard of footballers who we paid Rolex prices for but are really Sekonda in terms of quality and value.
It’s a bit worrying really, going forwards.

Trafford 16 mill. Amdouni 16.5 mill. Ramsay 15 mill. Tresor 16 mill once we have paid for him at end of season. Odobert 10 mill. These are 70+ million.

So you don't think we will get the money back on any of them?, or make big profits on the ones we paid a lot less for that you haven't mentioned.
Odobert could go for more than we paid, should we decide to sell, probably more if we keep him a season, for example

Re: Richard Keys
With regard to the comments attributed to Richard Keys published earlier up this thread, I certainly don’t think that Kompany has “raised his reputation” during his managerial stint at Burnley, if anything he has diminished it following a successful Championship season. The team that he has assembled looks totally disorganised from back to front. Speaking after the Bournemouth defeat he now seems to be blaming “outside influences” as a major reason why Burnley find themselves rooted in the bottom 2. VAR decisions, on-field refereeing decisions etc. Sure we have had our fair share but so has every other club but he cannot, or is unwilling to, face up to the harsh realities that have put the club back into the Championship.

I wouldn't worry too much about post match comments, like other managers it's an effort to put pressure on referees for future games. It works well for the big teams, much less for the small clubs, but worth a try.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 5:34 pmWith regard to the comments attributed to Richard Keys published earlier up this thread, I certainly don’t think that Kompany has “raised his reputation” during his managerial stint at Burnley, if anything he has diminished it following a successful Championship season.
