Today's Football 19/08

Post by claretburns » Sat Aug 19, 2023 12:22 pm

A full day of football ahead.

Early kick off on Sky Sports at 12:30 is a South Coast Derby Plymouth v Southampton, 17:30 gives us Tottenham v Man Utd and 20:00 Man City v Newcastle as well as all the 3pm kick offs through the Premier League and EFL, a decent day of football hopefully.

Just reported on SSN that personal terms between Tella and Leverkusen have been agreed verbally. Leverkusen's bid of £15,000,000 is below Southampton's valuation of nearly £26,000,000.

Wigan taken an early 1-0 lead at Bolton, despite 8 point deduction, if Wigan win today they'll have wiped out their deduction in 4 games and be on 2 points overall.

Not sure tella suits this formation. He seems a lot deeper in general and having to do a lot more defending

Any info about when he had his morning dump, and if they were good firm stools?

Superb bit of skill to nutmeg the defender on the byline but keeper saved well at front post.
Just skied one from the edge of the box bit he's looking very lively!!!!

Judging from the description on ssn it was a penalty won by a forward deliberately dangling his foot out and going down.
In the championship, Plymouth got no penalty and the forward a yellow card, but at Anfield.........

I didn’t think it was a penalty to be honest.

If it was it was a soft one

I think it was a yellow, at best. Still, Liverpool were gifted a goal so I don't think any tears are necessary.

Brighton have a phenomenal record against wolves in the top flight going all the way back to Peter ward and lawrenson (being a class player rather than a knob) .

Almost as guaranteed a 3points as man city taking them off us.
