Today's Football 19/08
A full day of football ahead.
Early kick off on Sky Sports at 12:30 is a South Coast Derby Plymouth v Southampton, 17:30 gives us Tottenham v Man Utd and 20:00 Man City v Newcastle as well as all the 3pm kick offs through the Premier League and EFL, a decent day of football hopefully.

Re: Today's Football 19/08
Wigan taken an early 1-0 lead at Bolton, despite 8 point deduction, if Wigan win today they'll have wiped out their deduction in 4 games and be on 2 points overall.

Tella nearly opens the scoring.
Re: Today's Football 19/08
Not sure tella suits this formation. He seems a lot deeper in general and having to do a lot more defending

Re: Today's Football 19/08
Superb bit of skill to nutmeg the defender on the byline but keeper saved well at front post.
Just skied one from the edge of the box bit he's looking very lively!!!!

Wrexham not finding it quite as easy in League 2 as they thought.

Re: Today's Football 19/08
Judging from the description on ssn it was a penalty won by a forward deliberately dangling his foot out and going down.
In the championship, Plymouth got no penalty and the forward a yellow card, but at Anfield.........

I didn’t think it was a penalty to be honest.
If it was it was a soft one

I'd love to know people's opinions on the red card for MacAllister of Liverpool
Re: Today's Football 19/08
Love watching Mike Dean on Soccer Saturday shutting Gangsta Morrison up

Definitely a red for me, could have broken his leg if not for the shin pads.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 4:22 pmI'd love to know people's opinions on the red card for MacAllister of Liverpool
Re: Today's Football 19/08
I think it was a yellow, at best. Still, Liverpool were gifted a goal so I don't think any tears are necessary.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 4:22 pmI'd love to know people's opinions on the red card for MacAllister of Liverpool
Re: Today's Football 19/08
Brighton have a phenomenal record against wolves in the top flight going all the way back to Peter ward and lawrenson (being a class player rather than a knob) .
Almost as guaranteed a 3points as man city taking them off us.

Blackburn winning with ten men.
Sounds like Twine is having a slow first game. To be expected though he’s only been there a day or so

Ipswich currently sit top of the Championship. No surprise, they looked a good outfit when we played them last season.
