Points System.

Post by Claretmutt » Mon Aug 21, 2023 2:03 pm

Just for curiosity how many fans out there
think the points system is fair or those who
don’t.

The only thing I don’t like is allowing season ticket holders to purchase extra tickets before they get to general sale, but this does happen at other clubs.
That aside, I think the rest of the current format is fine

I think three points for a win and one for a draw is about right.

Do you mean for away games?

3 points for doing 34mph in a 30 at 1am seems harsh

There will be a lot more people eligible to buy the first round of tickets under the new system.
Be interesting to see how they sell for forest away.

Yes, they were allowed to buy additional tickets prior to them being launched on general sale
I didn’t agree with it and still don’t but it happens elsewhere I believe

I presumed he was referring to away tickets, as the thread was about Loyalty Points and you don't need them for home games.

I’d like to see 3 points for a win, 2 for a score draw and 1 for a nil nil.
Controversial I know.

if you’ve had a season ticket for last 5 years and been to most away games you will have enough points so i really don’t see the issue.

i believe that supporter who follows his team all over the country week in week out should have priority over the season ticket holder from 1962 who goes to the odd lancashire derby if he can be bothered

I don’t think there was enough discussion .
I think it is ill thought out . It may not help but home cup games should be more points to get us more brass
I think because of Covid it should have been 7 years
I’ve still got more than enough points for Forest and bought one today by the way but was shocked for it to be changed after we’d all paid for our season tickets

Would you not have got a season ticket had you known the changes Spike?

Putting more people on similar points I think will increase away followings, points are important for the big days. Tickets still on sale (just) for Forest in league, will be sold out tomorrow. Likely would have any way at some points, but limited supply creates higher demand.

I should add that there were times in past few years, where shamefully, I would miss a cup match, mainly due to finances and not living in Burnley. That won't happen now. If I am not working I will be there. I suspect there are others with the same view.

The new system is far better to attract fans to attend more games. The 20 points means something now, before just being a long time ST holder was enough.
I would make it roll over 3 seasons instead of 5, but they have given an advantage to older fans.

As for the Covid season, everyone is the same, we all missed out.

minimum 18 away games so there’s an extra 360 points to gain. bottom line if you travel week in week out you will achieve enough points

Under the new system I've gone from being eligible for all away tickets from the get go last season (and applying for the ballot at Rovers) to not being eligible to get Forest away tickets from the get go this season.

I go to one away game a season, so looking through my experience only it looks like the new system is a lot fairer so far than the old one. I just hope that now there is an equitable system for young people they are flexible with the points thresholds so that those at the very top of the points system are given the best access. The whole thing's just going to have the same issues (other than making it fairer for kids) if they stick with the arbitrary 2000 points regardless of allocation size/interest.

Interesting because I've also gone from being eligible from the get go to not being, and I definitely go to more than one away game a season. So I'd say its a lot less fair ;)

3 for speeding, but you played your joker so double it up to 6?

Presumably if it had had its blue light flashing, you might have got the full house of 12.

Same as before for me. Usually got tickets on the 2nd level of loyalty points and still the same now.. it's very rare you can't get tickets if you want them.

The Cricket Field stand was virtually empty at the final whistle. The new loyalty points was changed to help this lot wasn’t it?

Them in the cricket field can’t go one hour without a vape/pint/key never mind 2 hours! They have to get back to the pub toilets as quickly as possible after a game.

You can calculate your own points from your purchase history. Why would you expect the club to do this for you.?
