Fair shout. If you do a count then under current rules you forfeit any chance of points that week

I definitely agree with points awarded for a count I did a helluva lot last season (as did some others) all of which we missed out on points.

at least 2 points ...although I would advocate 3 minimum for the counter.

Thank you all very much for your consideration in the matter of awarding points to the marvellous individual who undertakes the glorious task of counting the foodstuff.

Without the kind attention of said counter the quantities of the various foodstuffs would remain forever unknown and the unexplained side effect of motivating the performance of the mighty clarets on the football field would never be released.

Having therefore undertaken the requisite due diligence it can be announced that henceforth (and retrospectively from the start of this season) the counter of the food shall be awarded 3 points for each counting performance.

In subsequent seasons this decision can be reviewed by the counter who undertakes the task of maintaining the counting points.

I will post an updated points table in due course.

Reminder of volunteers for upcoming games and request for volunteers to fill in the blanks.

I have put myself forward for two of the games but will be happy to do alternative matches instead if anybody else wants to count for either of those particular fixtures.

28/10 Bournemouth (a) - claretmisterg
01/11 Everton (a) FLC - BigF
04/11 Palace (h) - Eloise Laws
11/11 Arsenal (a) - BossCat
25/11 WHU (h) -
02/12 Sheffield U (h) - what_no_pies
05/12 Wolves (a) - Croydon Claret
09/12 BHA (a) -
16/12 Everton (h) - claretmisterg
23/12 Fulham (a) -
26/12 Liverpool (h) -
30/12 Villa (a) -

Thanks to all the counters and volunteers so far this season.

It’s proving to be a much more difficult journey than many of us anticipated but we can hopefully motivate the team to secure some much needed points in the above fixtures.

Up the Mighty Clarets.

Well done to ever got the food count so organised,I tried along with one of two others, but we always ended having to do a count ourselves every other week, great idea having points for the person doing the count.
Once again well done to who ever is running it now it was a thankless task before.

So thanks to Croydon Claret and jdrobbo doing a bit of horse trading we now have confirmed counting volunteers as follows :-

16/12 Everton (h) - claretmisterg
23/12 Fulham (a) - BossCat
26/12 Liverpool (h) - Eloise Laws
30/12 Villa (a) - BigF
06/01 Spurs (a) - Croydon Claret
15/01 Luton (h) - jdrobbo
31/01 City (a) - tarkys_ears

Thanks to all volunteers and well done to the mighty clarets (particularly JT) in surviving the second half onslaught today to earn a valuable point. It was like new VK Burnley first half and old SD Burnley second half. Up the Mighty Clarets

Thanks to all the counting volunteers so far. We are now looking for volunteers for the next set of matches.

12/01 Luton (h) - jdrobbo
31/01 City (a) - tarkys_ears
03/02 Fulham (h) -
10/02 Liverpool (a) - Claretmisterg
17/02 Arsenal (h) -
24/02 Palace (a) -
02/03 Bournemouth (h) -
09/03 - West Ham (a) -
16/03 - Brentford (h) -

I have put myself down for the Liverpool game but will happily change if somebody else wants to do that fixture.

Hopefully there will be some points for us in these games. Up the Mighty Clarets come what may.

Should the Luton count be live now or am I just missing the thread?

It should be live (it’s my turn)…The moving of the day has thrown me… I had it in my phone calendar to start tonight but the fixture came forwards three days.

I’ll have something online today. Apologies!

John

No worries and no need to apologise. Thanks for doing a count. Hopefully we will batter the Hatters on Friday.
