Same here - EE is crap wherever I go!
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Mine was useless - EE. Did used to get signal.
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
EE. Almost non existent. Nothing to do with the club of course, but it’s been the case forever.

o2 which is hopeless for signal in and around the ground. Hasn’t been an issue in the past since some lads in the hospitality gave us the Wi-Fi password but has been changed as part of the JML works over the summer. Gutted!
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Since I swapped my Samsung S9+ 4g to a Samsung S23+ 5g (BT Mobile) I seem to get tinterwebby stuff ... I seem to be alone in this and everyone asking me for upsates on scores
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
I’m on EE and I’ve never been able to get a signal. Even an hour before kick off I was struggling to load anything up.

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
It's not just the Turf - trying to get a signal anywhere near the town centre on any day is virtually impossible now.
Travelling home this afternoon, I was virtually at the top of Manchester Road before I could pick anything up which is why the player ratings thread was late.

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Some games I’ve come off the turf and had no signal til I’ve hit the motorway on the way home - Madness how bad it gets around town on match days.
You’d be fuming if you lived next to the turf

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
EE is terrible for me, especially since upgrading to iPhone 14 Pro with 5G. I get two or three bars but zero connection to anything. Ironically on my old iPhone 8 I could switch to 3G and it worked fine albeit a little slower.

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Have you considered that the presence of 20,000 other phones connecting via the same mast might slightly degrade the signal strength of any/all providers on a match day?
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Voda is the best signal on the turf

Signal is usually good until the stadium fills

I’ve sat in 60,000 seater stadiums that I have no problem getting a text/WhatsApp during the game in.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 9:39 pmHave you considered that the presence of 20,000 other phones connecting via the same mast might slightly degrade the signal strength of any/all providers on a match day?
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Once there is a crowd, the whole of the area is out of action. Appalling by the providers and why is the club not sorting an agreement? Why can't they provide a good free WiFi? Other clubs do it.

Vodafone and Three aren’t bad. Vodafone is better. O2 is the worst signal I’ve ever had, avoid at all costs (not just at the turf).

Not the end of the world if you can’t get a signal on the match.
Just enjoy the game and go to the concourse for the half time scores.

They don't put the HT scores up in the concourse anymore, do they?StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 12:11 amNot the end of the world if you can’t get a signal on the match.

O2 shocking, can’t get a signal whatsoever, been like that for a long time now … can’t put a bet on or check on other scores … as been said above most of the town centre is the same .. Needs sorting.

I managed to stream BBC Sounds on the Turf yesterday on 3. Was patchy occasionally but it was listenable.

Considering for the games so far there has only been one other game playing at the same time it’s difficult to answer that for definite until Saturdays gamefidelcastro wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 12:22 amThey don't put the HT scores up in the concourse anymore, do they?

You do worry what might happen in an emergency situation with such an over-capacity networkAfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 9:39 pmHave you considered that the presence of 20,000 other phones connecting via the same mast might slightly degrade the signal strength of any/all providers on a match day?

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Premier Inn in Burnley have a sign up saying customers shouldn't pay for the premier wi-fi service, as they 'can't guarantee it will work due to unreliable local coverage'.
The standard service in there is continually on and off. I don't live in Burnley, but in terms of coverage it's like a 3rd world country.

Got no 3G, 4G, 5G on EE yesterday. More chance of getting Ali G.

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Better signal on O2 in remote parts of the Lake District and Scotland than in Burnley town centre where it's non-existent. Have never been able to connect at Turf Moor and can only very rarely get anysignal in the town centre.
Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
I think that there are plenty of Police at the matches, using a system not reliant upon mobile signals and the clubs own landlines, would more than negate any potential risk from lack of public network coverage.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 9:21 amYou do worry what might happen in an emergency situation with such an over-capacity network

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
I don't remember them doing last season either in the JML.
Instead, they preferred to show the first half highlights, with any chances/goals shown over and over again from about twelve different camera angles.

Vodafone works really well but generally the reception is awful with them. The one silver lining to being with them I suppose

Tried complaining about the poor signal several times to o2. but not getting anywhere. they just keep saying it's a busy area affecting the signal

Re: Mobile network coverage at Turf Moor
Yes I did the same. They said they would update me weekly with progress of my complaint. They did so intermittently over a 7 week period. They then emailed to say they have been unable to resolve the issue. Now for someone who works in Burnley and is in the town 50-60 hours per week it is totally unacceptable. I will never go with o2 again.Accrington claret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 8:17 pmTried complaining about the poor signal several times to o2. but not getting anywhere. they just keep saying it's a busy area affecting the signal

Giff Gaff is non existent, runs on O2 network, or rather it doesn’t.
