If LH ever races as inconsiderately/dangerously as mardy mad max I’d be very surprised.

Tbf you can go back to Ferarri, etc etc etc then Renault era and before that Honda etc etc so thats no argument Shaggy ... Its just Hamilton that you have a gripe against isn't it ... did he run over your pet squirrell or something ...

The OP made a point of there being no F1 thread for today's race and the point you make is exactly why I avoid creating any threads despite watching every race, the bickering on these threads are just so tiresome to read through.

The thing is, if Hamilton was in Verstappen's position, there would be less complaints. I have no skin in the game and enjoy the middle of the pack battles between Alpine, Williams, Haas, McClaren, etc.

All we need is for Ferrari or Mercedes to improve to the same level as Red Bull and it will then be as exciting as the early 90s. The Verstappen, Hamilton, Vettel, Schumacher dominated eras were all as equally damaging to the sport (and why i originally lost interest) but I've started to look further back from the front to find my enjoyment in the sport once more. One day there will be at least 2 teams battling evenly for the championship. My money is on Ferrari with their 2024 new platform to come but hopefully sooner.

I've been a fan and watched pretty much every race since the mid 80's... even been to a few inc Britain / Monaco / Spa / Nurburgring / Monza (Spa is the best experience). I still watch now - however I tend to switch off or fast forward large chunks once Verstappen is in the lead. The Verstappen dominance era seems different to the others Hamilton / Vettel / Schumacher / Williams / McClaren / Senna / Prost because the racing was better - less rules, they always had a team-mate that could push them and the drivers had more character and were interesting people.

The racing in the late 80's early 90's with Mansell, Piquet, Prost etc. was the most memorable for me. Some of the racing and overtakes then were unbelievable. But technology since then has started to play a bigger part each year. To the extent that it's more about the car then the drivers. Take Sundays race Red Bull !&2, Ferrari 3&4, Mercedes 5&6. No doubt Verstappen is a great driver but just how great is hard to judge because the Red Bull is so dominant.
