Dave Thomas Tribunal

Post by joey13 » Tue Sep 05, 2023 7:49 pm

Just reading about Terry Venables and came across this
Venables served the Professional Footballers' Association as vice-chairman in the 1970s, and represented QPR teammate Dave Thomas at his tribunal against Burnley chairman Bob Lord.

I know Thomas was transferred at this time , just wondering what the tribunal was all about ?

Think Dave Thomas was owed a bonus from Burnley (as he played in the early games in the promotion season) Bob Lord thought not as he had left the club. On signing for QPR, he told Terry Venables what had happened. Venables successfully sought to get the money Thomas was owed via the tribunal. Something along those lines. Thomas describes it his autobiography " Guiding Me Home and Away"
