It's a variation on my Dad's old saying "you can't have the bun and the ha'penny". I suspect the bakery would have to give the Blackburn fan his money back because they clearly didn't follow the brief, but they still had the cake. Unless they're very bitter, it's a win-win.

Not an old story. The Rovers fan is my nephew and his wife is a Burnley fan, and the cake was for my nephews 40th birthday this Sunday just gone.
