Digital Away Tickets
Re: Digital Away Tickets
Won't quote the whole thing Leon_C but what you say about Burnley/app/digital tickets etc... can you not just screenshot the QR and then no reason to worry about being logged out, forgetting password or having no connection? That's what I do as a contingency.

Re: Digital Away Tickets
With some apps you can do that
Others make the ticket “live” so a screenshot can’t be taken

This still relies on some people who have never used a mobile phone before to have a good understanding of what to do.Pickles wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:17 pmWon't quote the whole thing Leon_C but what you say about Burnley/app/digital tickets etc... can you not just screenshot the QR and then no reason to worry about being logged out, forgetting password or having no connection? I just don't think that's a large number. And neither must pretty much every company in the country, otherwise it wouldn't be beneficial for them. I understand how it can be annoying for that few but change sometimes is. It'll be the same situation in the future but instead of a QR code it'll be fingerprints or something.

Re: Digital Away Tickets
The original digital train tickets were a live 'animated' ticket, which you needed to show... now, they've simplified it to a QR code which is much more flexible. I've no idea which approach they would take if BFC went down this road.

Gets switched to overload
And nobody's gonna go to school today
She's going to make them stay at home
And daddy doesn't understand it
He always said she was as good as gold
And he can see no reasons
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?

Re: Digital Away Tickets
If you could add to your phone wallet (relatively simple on both iOS and Android) then this makes life much easier - you then use them the same way as airline boarding passes, the ol' COVID passport (remember those?) and to an extent bank cards.Pickles wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:17 pmWon't quote the whole thing Leon_C but what you say about Burnley/app/digital tickets etc... can you not just screenshot the QR and then no reason to worry about being logged out, forgetting password or having no connection? Re: Digital Away Tickets
Yep! I'd imagine this would be the case if Burnley went 100% digital.
Re: Digital Away Tickets
If we were allowed to use a QR code (as per the wallet or app) then it should, surely, be permissible to have this on paper rather than on a screen.
I know we're delving deeper into speculation here - but if it's merely a QR, the format shouldn't really matter.

Re: Digital Away Tickets
And loyalty cards, and membership cards, and hire car passes, and the new digital hotel keys…. All so simple.

Here we go Dandandeclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 12:49 pmThere's very few "Anybody received their digital tickets in the post" threads, or "I've had to pick my digital ticket up at the away ticket office" posts.... If you're going to compare the downloading a ticket journey, then factor in the delivery of tickets element as well. Are you still a paper boarding pass person for flights as well?

Re: Digital Away Tickets
Unsurprisingly this has now changed now that we are using digital away tickets.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 12:49 pmThere's very few "Anybody received their digital tickets in the post" threads, or "I've had to pick my digital ticket up at the away ticket office" posts.... EDIT: Ha, I had no idea the last post on this was also me.
