Re: IPTV services
Why on Earth would people put their provider on a public forum? It’s the quickest way to lose what you’ve got and get somebody into trouble. They won’t thank you for it.

Re: IPTV services
IPTV itself is legal and they can legally also have subscription channels as long as they have the licencing and copyright permissions to show the content (Netflix for example)Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 12:48 pmI thought IPTV was legal and watching subscription channels was illegal?
In this context IPTV is being used as the term for the services that show unlicensed and uncopyrighted content such as football which is illegal

Not needed if you have a top notch service
Re: IPTV services
A VPN will be involved somewhere, your provider is taking that out of your hands, yes I agree, good service but to say a VPN is not needed isn't actually correct.Claretitus wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 5:24 pmNo it isn’t!! Re: IPTV services
I don’t know. A couple of years ago, occasionally live sports either buffered or wouldn’t play at all. They then told all customers, as and when a VPN was needed. Then, they told all customers - NOT, to activate any VPN’s, and actually to do so, would interrupt live sport streaming. So no VPN required for over 2 years now. I’m obviously not prepared to advertise their services on a message board, but suffice to say, it’s an excellent service, no hiccups at all.

I think Sky strangle their Internet when football is on. Virgin Media has been known to as well.
Not just the services they target.

Re: IPTV services
That doesn’t make any sense. They throttle the broadband when football is on? They may throttle individuals but not all of their customers. That’s why you need a VPN so that they can’t identify you and also if you connect via an offshore server such as Brussels then they are not legally allowed to interfere with the stream

Re: IPTV services
It’s all to do with your ISP
Me and my dad use the same service but are on different ISPs
I very rarely need to use a separate VPN to watch sport, whereas he needs too

Re: IPTV services
You need to have a brief understanding of internet (network) topography to understand your comment.
To a layman if your mention VPN they are going to assume you mean a personal client at their end.
Of course providers that aren't blocked by the blackout use some kinda VPN to hide their traffic. If they didn't they'd last 5 minutes. Piracy detection is so advanced now it's probable each backbone assigns a VPN IP per customer.
