Clarets Player Subscription

Post by claret_in_exile » Mon Sep 18, 2023 3:51 pm

Hello all,

I might be missing the blindingly obvious, but I'm trying to subscribe to Clarets Player and my account is not presented with any options for subscriptions. I'm based in the US and was paying GBP25/month last year for access, but I don't even have the option to purchase anything this year.

Anyone else know what might be the issue?

TIA

I don't think it's made clear anywhere but my understanding is there's no paid service this year. There's free audio commentary but the club can't sell access to watch PL games online anywhere.

Hi CinEx
I don’t think that’s available this year because of the EPL TV deals. For example, NBC hold the rights in the US so the site wouldn’t be able to show any live games or comms.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong

It’s a poor do when you get better updates on here regarding the club accessibility (clarets player, tickets etc) than you do via their official communication

Yeah, while it says a lot to the quality of the people on this board, it also says a lot that I'm still waiting for the club to communicate with me when I had payment issues this time last year.

I think the best you can do now in the US is get a Dazn subscription. I think that's who have the rights to Premier League this season. If not, Peacock had it last season.

Rather than start another thread, can I ask a Clarets Player question on this one?

Has anyone tried watching a live match on Sky but with audio from Clarets Player?

Is there a delay on the audio?

You could be the guinea pig and try it tonight. If there is a delay maybe pause sky until its caught up..

Tried it and never had audio and video line up at all 🤣

I suspect there will be such a delay as to make it totally unworkable - you could pause and let it catch up as above but you'd be at the mercy of buffering even then.

This is what i used to do when i had Sky. However, the lack of descriptive commentary from Mr Bird made if very difficult to know if it was in line with my paused picture.
