Re: Info for Salford
Nearest league ground to me and the only pitch where both me and Burnley will have played a competitive game. It's rubbish for boozers or indeed anything else really in the immediate vicinity.
Good that you can get the x42/43/whichever straight there from Burnley though eh.
If you're coming off the M60 at Heaton Park/Middleton then turn right at the lights after the Premier Inn and go up past the park. Woodthorpe is on your left at the top of the hill. Big pub.
If you go straight across at the Woodthorpe junction, the Friendship is at the bottom of the hill before you turn left through Sedgley Park for the ground. Ground is about 30 mins walk from there, probably about 45+ from the Woodthorpe. Both are Holt's pubs.
The Fairways Lodge (former Village hotel) is in Sedgley Park but its pretty crap tbh. There's a few takeaways in Sedgley Park and Lupo which an oddly placed Italian on the industrial estate - cracking grub though.
If you want a better drink then I'd stop in Prestwich - a few good bars here; Crooked Man, All the Shapes, Keg, Cask & Bottle and Cuckoo - good pizzas at Cuckoo - and there's plenty of standard pubs and other decent enough places to eat. Long walk to the ground from here but easy to get a bus, only 2-3 stops before moor Lane from here.
Wouldn't particularly walk it from town, it's quite a way and all uphill - maybe up to an hour from Victoria. There's a few buses to the vicinity though. The Star is hidden away on the way up from town, just off bury new road, the locals bought it from the brewery to run themselves.
Think it's lots of residents parking around the ground. My dad wen the other week to watch Stanley there and they parked further down the hill after Moor Lane down towards the river at Kersal.
Will post more if I think of anything useful.

Re: Info for Salford
We are undecided yet but planning on a going round either Chorlton or Didsbury before the game and getting a cab to the ground nearer kick off.
Is there any local taxi ranks near the ground for after the match to get back to Piccadilly, train we have looked at is 23.02 back from Piccadilly don't really fancy a hike from the ground after the match and even more so if it went to penalties.

In short, no. Uber, black cab or Magnum Whiteline 0161 766 6666 probably your best bet.
Mainline are nearby as well 0161 773 7777.

Re: Info for Salford
For anyone driving I do thoroughly recommend parking correctly. As a previous poster has mentioned there is a lot of residents only parking and it is rigorously enforced. As soon as the game starts the wardens start dishing out the tickets.
If you don't mind a 15 minute walk I suggest finding a side street off Bury New Road maybe a couple of hundred yards short of the junction with Moor Lane. Again, check the restrictions.
