Re: Rugby Saturday
With football being on all day too you will need somewhere with multiple screens.
Probably best options are Coal Yard or The Dyche

Re: Rugby Saturday
Quarter finals about to begin
First up Wales and Argentina
Followed by Ireland v New Zealand
Not often the Northern Hemisphere teams start as favourites, going for a double Celt win

Looking forward to the match later between Ireland and NZ. Should be a cracker.

Wales currently doing their best to snatch defeat from victory. They have a long, strong history of this.
I’ll stick with them to get through.

Re: Rugby Saturday
I’m out oftouch with RU rules but I thought touching foot of the post or corner flag with the ball was a try. Only rider being the ball was also on the touchline which could make it out of play.
Argies have just scored another try and this match is done. 26-17, 2mins ain’t enough.

I loosely follow rugby league but it’s great to see Wigan back at the top of the tree.

Ireland have been very sloppy at the line-outs and it's cost them dear so far.

Game management by NZ in second half was immense.
Excellent game and performance by both teams.

Oh well.
It’s down to England again to show the home nations how it’s done.

Think the occasion got the better of Ireland. Truly shocking decisions at times.
How many chances did they turn down to put points on the board with penalty kicks

Re: Rugby Saturday
Interesting that all the media outlets have the scoring wrong on the match reports. They show both teams having 3 tries, 2 conversions and Ire 1 pen and NZ 2. NZ actually had 3 pens and 1 conversion to win by 4 pts.
Ireland lost this by being too flash early on looking for tries. The very best teams know it’s about pts on the board, world number 1 for not much longer.

Re: Rugby Saturday
Deeply upset by NZs first try being forward but ridiculously it is within the rules.
Another grey area they call momentum. The winger who passed it back inside wasn’t going that fast to qualify for momentum.
He passed the ball from outside the 5yd line and it was caught, by the scorer, inside. A clear forward.

Will never understand the rules of Rugby Union, far too complicated for the likes of me....but it's a great game,Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 10:22 pmDeeply upset by NZs first try being forward but ridiculously it is within the rules.

Re: Rugby Saturday
Typical Ireland can only perform when they feel like underdogs and the world is against them.

Re: Rugby Saturday
Their fans tend to boo & whistle if they're not kicking for the corner or running it, but needs must and their game management was poor.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 9:58 pmThink the occasion got the better of Ireland. Truly shocking decisions at times.
