Shame.

Not enough shots or quality in the final 3rd

Where was the urgency in the final 5-10 minutes? Felt like we were sleepwalking..
And our short corner tactics are simply not coming off at the moment. A frustrating watch

Don’t know what to make of that. Loads of positives but didn’t have the edge needed to win.

We are struggling simple as that. No urgency to move ball quicker and i lost count of poor passes .

Re: Today’s thread
Is Benson out of favour? 5 minutes doesn't seem enough!
Re: Today’s thread
For me Berge needs to start ahead of Brownhill, frustrating night in a game we could have got points from. We go again.

No urgency in the last 20/30 mins. They were there for the taking. So frustrating

Well played lads. Especially in the first half some amazing football when we dominated United. Great performance by Ramsey. Benny seems to be getting back in shape. Also Bruun Larsen and Al Dakhil looked good. On to the next.

Re: Today’s thread
We can keep playing well, as we did tonight, but with no end product we will pick up few points in this League. VK has a big challenge, other than that brilliant piece of football by Fernandes, this is one of the weakest United sides I have seen for a long time. We played some lovely football at times, but also on many occasions we played so many backward and sideway balls when we could have been on the offensive. Would love to see the ratio of forward passes to sideways & backwards. Still think we have yet to find our best starting 11-reminds me of Forest last year

Re: Today’s thread
Definitely Benson should have had at least 20 mins. Tresor disappointing tonight after a good appearance last time out.
Re: Today’s thread
We do look to be getting better though. Only missing Foster for one more League game.

Re: Today’s thread
Unlike last season, I don't see where the goals are going to come from. Possession and the football is lovely, but we need to get the goals from somewhere
Re: Today’s thread
Did okay ...they have bigger stronger players...and 1 or 2 with a bit more class...
Probably would not have scored until Christmas but that was not due to any lack of effort and Amdouni was unlucky with his two chances
Foster may have made a difference a bit ...
Think we will get some wins ...but not next week ...next 3 games after that there are chances

Re: Today’s thread
I know Amdouni can play No 9, but the volume of players we have brought in its a shame we have no one who can play No 9 if Foster is out. Certainly Jay can no longer fulfill that

We keep the ball they can't score. We just need to improve in the final third.

Re: Today’s thread
We need more physicality in midfield, Cullen was like a little lad trotting about, not once did he try and lose his marker (the guy with the long hair). Why did we take Koleosho off the left wing when JBG went off, he had their right back on toast (he had a yellow card after Koleosho’s first run). First half we played so well and could have had three goals, the second half we looked like a team expecting to lose. I just hope this young team doesn’t lose heart.

Re: Today’s thread
A promising performance. You can see them getting slightly better as each game goes by. Still some tightening up to do at the back and we need to find that killer ball where it matters a bit more, but that's the best we've played since we came up

Another home loss but this time to a very poor United team coming off a tough CL game. No excuses this time. I hope Foster learns from his stupidity.

I’ve never felt more confident in our attacking players and ability to score.

Re: Today’s thread
Played well but created the square root of xxxx all in the second half . Can't understand why Trafford , Al-Dakil and Beyer were passing around toach other in the last 10 minutes when utd had no intention of pressing . At that stage utd were playing 6 at the back and just absorbing anything we created . We needed players to take a chance and run at them .

Re: Today’s thread
So many positives tonight, the back 5 looked like they had an understanding of each other tonight, Ramsey excellent before his legs went. Tresor has a touch of class but had to improve his focus.
The one issue I have with tonight is how easy we made it for the uniteds back 5, Evans at 36 year old didn’t have to break a sweat, he was never tracking back on the back foot, the ball over the top or in behind wasn’t an option until Larsen came on.
Also one last note to fans, please stop shouting shoot every time benson gets the ball near the box

Don’t think it was about him………think it was more “dodgy keeper” ….and we weren’t having any shots…..123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 10:58 pmSo many positives tonight, the back 5 looked like they had an understanding of each other tonight, Ramsey excellent before his legs went. Re: Today’s thread
I don’t buy into the whole dodgy keeper stuff and we have to test him, he made an error midweek but every tip class keeper can make a mistake, he’s still a top keeper, in general we didn’t have anywhere near enough shots on goals that’s a fair judgement, more shots neededJimmymaccer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 12:08 amDon’t think it was about him………think it was more “dodgy keeper” ….and we weren’t having any shots…..

Re: Today’s thread
Overall, best so far this season. The stats show that we probably had the edge, but lost. Felt flat coming off the game, but after reading some of these posts feel a bit better, my impression is that we don't yet know our best side or our best formation, which must confuse the players, however we have some damned good players who can only get better and Vincent, good as he is, is stil learning.
It could have been worse, it was Man Utd we played¬not Ipswich!

Re: Today’s thread
Despite the result I thought we were very, very good. We just need that finishing touch, and perhaps a bit more drive to break down teams better when they defend like they did in the second half.
Al-Dakhil was immense.
It looks like we need to work on our defending, but honestly you can see our entire mantra is to try and control games and to do that you need to score first. There will be goals this season we can do nothing about, so we need to make sure we get ahead in games, so we are not at a disadvantage when other teams pull out a worldie.
It's vital that we turn up like we did today against our relegation rivals, if we can control games against them, we will stay up no problem.

Re: Today’s thread
Tough to take, pats on the back aside for how good we looked it's no points from a team who were there for the proverbial taking.
Not a Utd team on form, instead a Utd team relying on a free transfer to patch up their defence. A Utd team whose players were at low morale. A Utd team wirh a keeper who has conceded a high number of goals (to shots). Also a Utd team who had a tough midweek game.
I get the 'we will come good' optimism, but the Prem is unforgiving. The chance of a point (or even 3) against a top 6 team out of form is a real opportunity. You don't get those often.
Anyway, apologies for the negativity and I love the way we play but I can't help feel that last night was a real chance to continue monentum after the Forest game.

Re: Today’s thread
Ramsey was amazing wasn't he? Never expected such a good performance from him this suddenly. I didn't really know the player I must admit but what a great addition to our midfield. Works hard, technically very good. Can even dribble players and beautiful passing. Very impressed with him. He's also fast and seems to have a good endurance as well.
I wouldn't take him out anymore. Also Benson and Bruun Larsen showed determination, did many good things. Bruun seems to have surpassed Redmond Zaroury and Odobert in the pecking order. Frankly he looks good in the premier league. Technically physically he makes a good impression. Some good decision making. Looks like we won't regret getting him, even though he seemed like an excess transfer.
The Easter eggs are starting to pop up
