Doesn't matter what I say or you think.... Kompany has clearly decided that Trafford is his number one keeperTaffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 4:22 pmSay what you like.....we look a lot better with Muric.
His passing creates time & space for our defenders, it takes the pressure off.

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
He decided that Chaz wasn’t up to it at left back preferring Al Dakhil there as well… 3 games conceding 11 goals forced his hand and all of a sudden we look a lot better in defence.
Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
I am not saying who is right or who is wrong, it's down to opinions which is fine, but out of interest how many of the goals conceded so far do you think Muric would have stopped. The distribution issue is a moot point really unless we saw Muric up against the different systems employed by premier league teams, it might be he'd struggle, who knows?.

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
Whatever.......i'd like to see him given a chance.
Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
The difference is that he hasn't signed a left back. Had he done, whoever that person was would be playing. Up to present he was trying to find a system to play having missed out on a signing...taylor wasn't his first choice, and had we not have had injuries to centre halves, Taylor may not have got his chance, so it's more forced than anything elseCoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:31 pmHe decided that Chaz wasn’t up to it at left preferring Al Dakhil there as well… 3 games conceding 11 goals forced his hand and all of a sudden we look a lot better in defence.
But we look better with Taylor at left back

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
I reflected and took my time on this
Trafford 6 - some great saves but command of his area worries me.
Roberts 7- solid
Al Dakhil 8- much better than previous games
Beyer 6 got caught a couple of times but love his little runs out of defence
Taylor 7
Ramsey 8- looks a good player
Cullen 6- looks a bit nervous and rushed
Brownhill 6- see above.
Gudmundsson na
Amdouni 7
Koleosho 7
Subs:
Tresor 6- can't forget how he practically walked up the left had side in shock not long after he came on, as though he was told to hold back. Will come good.
Rodriguez 6- didn't get a sniff
Berge 7- adds a presence and is great on the ball
Bruun Larsen 7- a good option from the bench
Benson na

Trafford - 6
Once again couldn't really do much to prevent goals. Had a good save early on and I think his distribution is improving but he really needs to adjust area commanding as soon as possible.
Taylor - 6
Overall OK game but both him and Beyer needed to react better for the goal. He's also not comfortable in inverted fullback zones and his passing could be better but that's something that can't really change overnight.
Beyer - 6
Lost the ball a few times after runs and could have done better to prevent the goal.
AAD - 8 MOTM
Brilliant game. Faultless passing and some nice defensive interventions. What a goal saving tackle that was.
Roberts - 7
I think he really improved massively from the last time he played in PL. Very energetic and more reliable defensively but needs to be more careful when in possession.
Brownhill and Cullen - both 7
Good games from both and they look comfortable with each other. Shame they marked Cullen really well but he still had that brilliant pass to create chance for Bruun Larsen. Brownhill needs to stay away from set pieces though.
Koleosho - 6
Started brilliantly but faded even quicker than against Forest. Not sure it was the right idea to make him switch sides.
JBG - NA
Shame he couldn't continue because he started brightly.
Ramsey - 7
Very good first half with some nice touches and skills. It will be really hard for Kompany to choose one out of Ramsey, Berge and Amdouni to occupy advanced midfield spot.
Amdouni - 6
Very useful in tight spaces but it was evident that he can't play up front on his own.
Subs:
Tresor - 5
Don't get me wrong, I think he will be a massive player for us but was really disappointed with his performance. It's encouraging that he got himself into some useful positions but his final ball was awful every time.
Berge - 6
Wasn't really involved much.
Jay - 5
Not sure he has much to offer at this level.
Bruun Larsen - 7
Very interesting cameo. Profile wise I think he's the most similar to Tella. That run was textbook move from last season and something we need to do more often.
Benson - NA
Wasn't given much time.
Kompany - 6
Set us up really nicely in the first half but at some point I feel he should have taken more risks. Switching Koleosho and Tresor was not a good idea.

And when have you seen Muric playing at this level?Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 4:22 pmSay what you like.....we look a lot better with Muric.

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
Said the same thing yesterday.... Premier league sides set up completely different to championship sides, nobody knows how he'd fair against these systems

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Player Ratings
I haven't, but Trafford seems to slow everything down, he then tends to pass it to a defender who is immediately under pressure & we turn it over in a dangerous area.
You might as well just boot it upfield.
I'd like to see Muric given a chance that's all.......i don't see anything great with Trafford, especially on corners (AWFUL).

We didn't spend the amount of money we did on Trafford for him to sit on the bench.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 5:34 pmI haven't, but Trafford seems to slow everything down, he then tends to pass it to a defender who is immediately under pressure & we turn it over in a dangerous area.

Of course, if he was at fault for every or most of the goals we've conceded, then you have to look at it, but he hasn't been.
