One big elephant in the room
It's been a concern of mine for a while but we lack height in the team. It's all well and good playing lovely football but last night demonstrated how simple it is for teams to score against us from set pieces. OK we got away with it last night thanks to VAR but teams like Everton will batter us at corners. Our manager was a big, dominant centre back and yet he doesn't seem to see how weak we are in this area. Once Utd scored they were able to sit back safe in the knowledge that we didn't have any height in the team to worry them. It was a very easy 2nd half for their defence.

When your best defender at corners is Jay Rod, work on heading and protecting the box is needed

I have to agree with the original post and like others have thought that for sometime. VK may well have looked for that ball playing technically gifted centre back that stands 6” 6” but trying to find within our limited pay scale, that’s another story.

Yes another game where the opposition were a lot bigger than us and outmuscled us.
