Re: SHOOT!!!!
Game has evolved, and premier league managers prefer to pass into the net nowadays, but was several opportunities last night to get a shot on target, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Re: SHOOT!!!!
The difference in quality and mindset was highlighted for me when Fernandes scored with a brilliant first time volley yet late on when Larsen was presented with virtually the same scenario he took a touch and the moment was gone and we managed a corner, it just seems at times we want to walk it in and just pulling the trigger isn`t considered an option.

Re: SHOOT!!!!
I did think Jay Rod should have leathered it when he got on the end of that ball to the right of the goal. Instead he seemed to try and play it across goal to no-one and failed to do that too. Benson looked like all he wanted to do was shoot when he came on conversely which was refreshing.

Re: SHOOT!!!!
I get the feeling of we need to shoot more but don’t think last night we had that many opportunities to get the shot away

Re: SHOOT!!!!
We should be shooting more as nearly all keepers now push the save back out into the danger area.
We’d have won last night if Foster had played. Amdouni is not the solution as a 9.

Re: SHOOT!!!!
Seen a few people say this. We definitely missed Foster but I’m not sure how anyone can be so confident we would have won the game had he played. Would he have scored two goals? He would have also played in place of Ramsey who was terrific, or Amdouni who was our biggest goal threat.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 11:22 amWe should be shooting more as nearly all keepers now push the save back out into the danger area.

Tend to agree, I don’t think foster would of won us the game, Amdouni played the foster role, kompanys number 9 position isn’t someone lurking in the box it’s dropping deep into possessionRileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 11:34 amSeen a few people say this. Re: SHOOT!!!!
I think Foster was a big miss last night.
I somehow doubt Evans would have the time and space to play the ball he didd had Foster been on the field and closing him down.

Re: SHOOT!!!!
Fair enough but aside from the header, saved, and hitting the post, should have scored, I thought Amdouni looked lost. Foster might not have scored goals but his hold up play and pressing defenders would have been a major plus for us.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 11:34 amSeen a few people say this. We need to test keepers more from edge of box

12 shots last night to Utd's 11. 4 each on target.
Re: SHOOT!!!!
I do think at times VK wants us to play exactly like Man City and score the perfect goal.claretgimmer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 10:00 amThe difference in quality and mindset was highlighted for me when Fernandes scored with a brilliant first time volley yet late on when Larsen was presented with virtually the same scenario he took a touch and the moment was gone and we managed a corner, it just seems at times we want to walk it in and just pulling the trigger isn`t considered an option.
We simply haven't got the players though.

The trouble with Burnley, is that they're always trying to walk it in

Yeah it's that simple taking the ball over the shoulder from behind first time.claretgimmer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 10:00 amThe difference in quality and mindset was highlighted for me when Fernandes scored with a brilliant first time volley yet late on when Larsen was presented with virtually the same scenario he took a touch and the moment was gone and we managed a corner, it just seems at times we want to walk it in and just pulling the trigger isn`t considered an option.
That finish from Bruno was world class. Because he's a top quality player. Even then I bet he misses that as often than he scores.
I'm at a total loss sometimes - football in real life isn't ******* Fifa.

Re: SHOOT!!!!
Give the kids chance to get some confidence, most of them are kids playing against clubs they dreamed of playing against, it will take time to settle down, they’ve played some big clubs now, and they are settling down.
